They look like a couple of nice looking ferrets to me, well worth a shot.

Ring judging has the downside that the judge knows who the owner is, and there are lots of squabbling cliques in the ferret world. On the upside though it's a lot quicker; conventional ferret shows can be sooooo boring, hanging around waiting for your number to be called.

if that happens would the vets not redo the op for free it was a full year before we found out, I suppose I could ask As a matter of interest, how would you prove to your vet it was the same ferret that he'd operated on a year ago? Are yours microchipped?

No Hope If They Dont Know What Theyre Doing
CommanderData replied to moses's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
That noo-fangled book larnin's no good to anyone. More seriously I don't think any pet shop should be selling ferrets. -
Obviously a very profound thinker your vet. Did (s)he do any test to confirm that it was distemper, or was it just a guess?

There is no "flu/cold type virus", the viruses that cause both are quite distinct. In particular the rhinoviruses that cause colds are species specific, so unless by some magic you've managed to catch ferret cold your animals are quite safe from your human cold. does nt this read that ferrets are quite safe from human cold? so what is ferret cold? Y.I.S Leeview Colds that ferrets get, I reckon. It's not exactly hard to understand, is it. The viruses that cause colds are species specific, as are many other viruses. Who's ever heard of a human dying of canine distemper for inst

Fascinating. Not. Is it somewhere on flaming ferret that you've seen this claim that ferrets can't catch 'flu? There's a perfectly serviceable search option on that site, so it should be very easy for you to back up your claim with a link, because I've been unable to find any such nonsense.

Who's said that ferrets can't catch the human flu? It's evident that they can.

Suitable Disinfectant for Hutch Cleaning

Not only generally discouraged but potentially lethal. Virkon is good, as are all the defra-approved cleaning agents, like Trigene, because they also kill viruses. Mind you, if you belong to the camp that believes viruses are perfectly harmless, much like stones really (which I'm sure you don't), then why bother to use any disinfectant at all? -
I think you're wrong. Certainly they ought not to be the ferret's main food, but they're nothing like an egg. It's the albumen in the white of an egg that causes problems, not the yolk, so the small yolk sack of a day-old chick poses no problem. Also chicks aren't covered in fluff, and I've seen no evidence that they irritate the mucus in a ferret's throat. In fact, if you think about it, mucus can't be irritated anyway, as it's just a secretion.

An interesting and telling misunderstanding. Do stones have life cycles in your world? Do they contain DNA/RNA? Are they able to replicate themselves? What a fascinating and unpredictable world you must live in. You go to bed one night and when you wake up in the morning your house is twice the size it was, because all the stones it's made of have replicated. Mind you, it's hard to see where all the space would have come from, because all the stones in your garden would have replicated too.

Who's "mustela putorious furo"? Why not ask him/her about whatever his/her site says or doesn't say? There has never been any doubt that influenza is zoonotic so far as I'm aware, and no amount of you claiming otherwise will fool anyone with the reading ability normally expected of anyone who attended school for the full term, or at least the term in which English comprehension was taught. Do you have any evidence--I mean evidence, not the opinions of your equally ignorant and uneducated mates--suggesting that the human cold is zoonotic?

Are you going to start claiming that viruses don't cause disease? Is this another example of the sort of confused thinking that links a genetic disorder with a contagion? Ah, I think that I begin to see the source of Lee's confusion about Waardenburg Syndrome now; a lack of basic schooling.

Presumably these two hobs are intact? Most intact hobs will fight during the breeding season. If they're damaging each other I'd suggest either separating them or having neutered.

That's a nice article. Here's another. Do you have a stutter, or is there a more obvious reason why you would repeat a posting wihout comment? no stutter, wanted to save it incase it got deleted/edited you asked for definition of ferrets being capable of contacting flu from humans and vice versa a link was provided theres a good few more and you retort with a link about diseases???? when the topics clearly about viruses Y.I.S Leeview Nobody has claimed that influenza isn't a zoonotic disease, my objection was to the confused lumping together of the viral agents which cause col

Day old chicks are a very good idea, and quite cheap if you buy them in bulk.

I'm surprised that you can get f****d even if you are honest.

Where is this college for ferrets? Sounds interesting. How old do ferrets have to be before they're allowed in?

Eggs are not 100% protein, but then again neither is meat of course.

what's the bet someone has a problem with giving eggs to the fezzers??? What's the bet that someone doesn't know the problems that albumen causes? Someone like you, for instance?
