    yep very large whippets knocking about these days however this is just my opinion but whippets should vary from 16" small bitch to 21"for larger dogs but everyone has a different opinion however anything over 22" i would class as a lurcher because there is likely to be something else in it and i would rather have a lurcher this size than a whippet my friend has an older whippet who is 10 now and he is from laguna lines and he is 20".

    just a bit of advice please gang i have lurcher the journal of running dogs 1988 and 89 and also the running dog year book 91 in very good nick i want to sell them and im looking for guide prices thanks. piccies added

    been dead a good few years and i think it must be 15 years at least that he worked that strain had a border bitch off that strain hard as nails but sadly no longer with us.

    my mate has a 9 year old laguna and the prey drive is unreal but thats what makes the dog continually looking while out even at this age he is in very good nick for his age and is constantly on the go he has had a few odd scrapes and a few stitches with the wire but probably the best dog he has ever or likely to own in my opinion and it will be a sad day when he is no longer with us, not only that because of his tenacity when he is on top of his game all the other dogs have to up there game to compete with him so he brings out the best in all the other dogs.

    parma violets,shrimps,chocolate logs, cola cubes,texan bar,space dust,chuppa chups,flying saucers,sweet tobacco and lets not forget tootie fruities and as already been said going were you wanted with the airgun without being hassled as long as it was in the gun bag aah good days.

    depends what you are going to use the dog on if its for a little allrounder then 12 mths is fine mate game little dogs and will not lack in heart and prey drive .

    the 22 would be a better option for fur and feather but would say cant go wrong with weihrauch springers had a few myself including the 95 in 22 top guns.

    as moll says plays havoc with the coat shaving it i should know i done it to a border i had, tough as f##k to strip by hand for a few years after that.

    just bathe it in salt water twice a day for a few days should do the trick.

    im sure you will use the lurcher as an allrounder so should not really matter as long as she doesnt get any nasty bites you should be fine mate is she a small type lurcher with whippet in her if so a very agile little dog is a great asset to the team.
