  9. normally 6-7 years if the bitch is fit .you may end up with a few probs more info off other peeps more knowledgeable than me will no doubt give you more advice however my friend had a lovely deerhound cross 1o years ago and an accidental mating meant she had pups she was 11 but the bitch in question was also in very good condition and produced 3 pups.
  10. very valid points you need to look at the ground you will be working the dog on and what sort of quarry you will expect the dog to tackle also with the collie you get the brains they soon pick up on things.
  11. he could have some bruising on the muscle i have a bitch very similar to your breeding she clipped a fence and was howling but no damage done about 2-3 wks was fine but i didnt run her just walked on lead after a few days rest.
  12. make sure you clean the bite properly and add some antiseptic cream to it twice a day for a few days just to be on the safe side this is what i do with my dogs when they get bit keep an eye on it that it doesnt swell or you may need a antibiotic jab about 15 quid always wash and clean rat bites with antisepic ie dettol or such as soon as possible to stop any swelling.

  16. used ferrets on rats for over 25 years had a few nasty cuts but nothing to serious these ferrets are from a strain that go back a lot of years you just have to be careful not to take to many chances my cousin worked rats with ferrets for 40 years however the rats are bigger and there is a lot more food about now,he also retired them on rats when they got to 4 yr old and they just done bunny's then.
  17. that would be nice rob but even better ripping out there throats, however if it is pikeys and nobody knows for sure they are great with dogs so dont have that problem because they are some of the best dog men.
  18. the pup will soon get used to it put the little dog in the boot with a folded blanket to sleep on it will soon be ok, also if you are putting the dog in the boot to take it for a run it will soon twig that if its in the boot its going out and will get excited get the pup into a routine ie collar on then into the boot it then knows its of out for a good run.
  19. i use the deben mini tracer with dimmer switch cant fault it.
