    I'm thinking of doing something else, I've been plumbing and heating since I was 16 I'm now 33 and my knees and back are knackered Don't know what to do though really, dogs and kids take up any spare time thats the trouble Professional pigeon shooter would be nice lol

    About the same as 223 factory ammo, I have a variation ready to send off for a 22 hornet but now I'm not sure The thing that is bugging me is I can't see a lot of difference between the 223 and the 17 hornet apart from knock down power with a heavier bullet I am the same I want something between my 223 and 22lr 22 or 17 hornet I just don't know now help lol

    Hows the best way of giving this to my dogs peeps I feed raw so can't really mix with food and in their water bowl will dilute it

    Thanks for replying but that's it I don't want to change rifle and I can reload but just fancied something different just to see what they group like and velocity etc Never entered my head untill I saw the hornet thread and saw a box of 35 grain Just wondering now what powder would be best with this bullet and how many grains etc

    No need dan hit them hard enough with the 223 dead is dead just wanted to try something a bit faster for long distance crows so a 22 250 would be to expensive for twatting crows all day

    Thanks I've never really thought of using the 35 always used the 40 but wanted to use something faster if it groups ok

    Just to add I'm not disappointed with her or peed off, I've seen this with other young dogs in the past but they were lurchers and I can't remember how they got over it

    Tonight I went out just to try a semi auto and managed to shoot a couple of rabbits and jackdaws around the farm I took my ess with me, she's been fine retrieving but tonight one of the rabbits started squealing when she picked it up and then refused to retrieve. I pulled it's neck threw it into the cover and she fetched it back fine Will she overcome this herself?

    I had one on my hmr and it was a pile of shite, zero moved when you adjusted the focus Might be ok on air rifles but at longer distance it moved a few inches so I scrapped it I won't buy another, its not so much the money its more of having confidence in your setup without having to check zero every time you go out

    True, thanks mate I'll keep at it I'll have a go tonight in some long grass, But to be honest she quarters great through long cover grass reed grass etc but I'll try the dummies, what I thought about doing was shooting a few rabbits and drag them along the ground and hide them in the hedge in various places I'll keep you posted
