  10. I am having trouble getting my springer to retrieve from further out I will drop a blind behind me walk about thirty yards and send her back But when she can't find it I stop her and give hand signals left or right which is fine but when the dummy is further out she just goes from left to right again, after I have stopped her and raised my arm straight in front of me I have practiced closer and she goes back fine Any ideas
  11. Just got back in from shooting a few targets, Well the groups were great 3 shots touching at 50 yards Moved out to 100 and as I focused the side parralax I noticed the cross hairs moving from side to side I replaced it with my scope off my 22 and got 6 shots all within a 2p sized target at 100 yards So my foxing rifle is up and running now for when they cut all this maize but I still need a new scope
  12. Gunsmith said I could of had it cut down to 16 but said I wouldn't recommend it for some reason
  13. I had it cut down today its now 18inch so out tomorrow to zero it with some rws soft points
  14. I phoned the gunsmiths he said I will lose 25fps per inch which is bugger all really and its 90 quid to do it He did say that bedding the rifle might not be necessary anyone else had there 223 glass bedded?

  16. Its a 24inch barrel and I can have it cut down to 18, was thinking of having it glass bedded aswell, does this improve accuracy in 223? Also does any body shoot a 223 or 222 without a mod? I have a stainless mod with is over the barrel type but makes it a bit front heavy, also adds another few inches But because I'll only be having a few shots a night was going to try without it
  17. Anybody had this done? Thinking of having in done to make it easier to shoot out of the motor, can it be done and if so whats the minimum barrel length for a 223?
  18. I was feeding all sorts of stuff, loads of fish like mackerel sardines mashed up with brown bread or pasta Or pigeon breasts which I cook with veg and beef gravy or lamb fat Or minced lamb pork or chicken with pasta and cheap chicken wings and thighs from aldi

  20. Thanks for the tips I'll try and see how she goes, Was just looking through the complete lurcher by plummer and its got a tidy pic of a lurcher jumping a fence that must be over 10 foot, I can hope lol
  21. Ok thanks skycat that makes sense, she is a bedlington whippet greyhound about 26 tts Oh and she's twelve months old its not something I'm really worried about at the moment but wanted some advice on how to train her to do it
  22. How can I get my lurcher to start jumping gates and fences etc? Started her off 6 months ago with scaffold boards between two gate posts, adding a board every month or so, she can jump about four foot over these but she just tries to get under fences or gates and if she can't she whines I have tried walking away but end up walking back lol
