Be carefull on ebay, I have just bought 2x 50 yard quickset nets with poles and a basket, he said they were 100% bagging and when I set them up they are only 50%. We had rabbits bouncing off them last week, for a few extra quid I could of bought new ones from JBSnets with 100% bagging.

I have just bought a 95 fourtrak 2.8, the 7 seater version. It has the automatic locking hubs. I was just wanting to know the correct proceedure to put it in and out of 4 wheel drive and in low gears, the manual I got with it is very confusing. Also when I put full lock on and slowly turn it makes a squeaking noise from under the bonnet, does anyone know what this could be and will it cause any further damage if I dont get it sorted, it has recently had a new power steering belt if that could be anything to do with it. Thanks in advance for any advice

Last winter mine were on rabbit and catmeat as well as dry food and would make a rabbit disapear all but a bit of fur in a day. During the summer I only gave them dry food to stop the flies and the meat getting infected. When the season started again they wouldn't eat the rabbit in the cage they just ragged it about, so I only give them dried food now. It has worked out good because if they get a deep kill that you cant dig to they will just sit on it until its dead and then come out, not sit eating it for hours.

Give them a ring for your own piece of mind to stop you being worried, I have 3 points for speeding and just got granted 3 rifles on my first application. At least if you ring and tell them it shows you are honest, but its nothing for you to worry about, you could just tell them at the interveiw but you will probably be worried sick for the next couple of weeks if you dont tell them beforehand. Just phone them, get it over and done with and stop panicing!!!

I was out with Paul and his Grandson, and we were working 7 ferrets. There was still loads of rabbits in the warrens but it was getting dark and we had about 200 purse nets to pick up and the longnets to get in so we had to stop. We were out from 8.30 in the morning and the ferrets still didn't want to go home because they new there was still rabbits in the set. When I say it was a set...... it was in a bankside about 200 yard long and we were doing it in sections because of the amount of nets we needed, we moved the purse nets accross about 6 times, so there was at least 1000 holes. In the en

I have been asked to give a quote for supplying and maintaining some bait stations for rats in a wharehouse. What do you think I should charge, this will be a ongoing contract so I have to compettative with the price. Based on 8 stations I thought an inittial charge of £10 per station and £25 per visit, do you think this is a fair price, the £25 per vistit will include the laying of the poison and the amount of visits will depend on how quick the poison is being eaten. Also if any dead rats are found between visits and they need removing then another visit will also be £25. Does anyone

chances of getting granted a FAC
THE GRIFF replied to sighthound123's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I have just been granted a fac air rifle, 22 rimmy and a 22 hornet on my first application. The only thing I was worried about was lack of experiance so I went out a few times with a friend and gave his name as a referance to the fire arms officer that came out to interview me. My mate got a phonecall to confirm I had been going out with him and I handled the rifle safely and that was it. It only took about a month from start to finish. Go for it I say, its not as scary as some people seem to make out. A .22 rimfire would be ideal for bunny bashing. Good luck -
SMK4-16x50AOE V's HAWKE NITE EYE 6.5-20X50AO I have recently bought both of these scopes and considering the Hawke scope is nearly twice the price I thought I would let you know my oppinion about them both. I bought the SMK scope first to go on a air rifle, but to cut a long story short my FAC came through and it ended up going on my new cz .22 rimmy. I had a nikko stirling scope on my air rifle and compared to the SMK scope the nikko one wasn't even comparable. The SMK scope is very clear throughout all of the magnifications, the parallax adjustment fine tunes the image at a distance

I have just bought a cz .22 hornet and am looking for a moerator for it. There seems to be a few different ones on the market, so I am wanting to know your thoughts on which one I should get and what you have on yours. It has to preferably be black and cover the end of the barrel 2 or 3 inches as I want it to cover where the old metal sights have been. Thanks for any advise

AIR ARMS S510,4-12X42 SCOPE, BIPOD AND MOD IN .177
THE GRIFF replied to THE GRIFF's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Already have, it was on about 2 mins and the mods removed it for some reason. I still had about 10 peeple PM me though in the 2 minutes it was on. This is now sold presuming the lad turns up with the cash tommorrow. Thanks for the advise anyway though. -
I have for sale my AA S510 in .177 with bipod, scope and moderator. I dont know how to put pictures up but its the one in the picture near my name on the left corner of my thread. I am in Thornaby near Middlesbrough in the north east, I may travel within reason to meet you if you are serious. I want £375 for this air rifle which is a bargain, it would probably be twice this price if bought new. I may be open to offers if it doesn't sell, but first to view will buy PM me for phone number to discuss any details

Can you not chase them up and see whats going on with it, its not fair its a post code lottery with the application, I cant fault cleveland police but I may have just been lucky and they wanted everything tied up for christmas.

I have a nikko gameking that was on a air rifle when I got it, it has done me for the last 12 months but its not very clear at anything more than 30 yards and not clear on the higher mag(mine is the 3.5-10x50). I have recently bought 2 SMK scopes and they are really accurate and crystal clear compared to the gameking even on the x16 mag. I dont know if the gameking scope I have is faulty but when you adjust the parralex it doesn't make it much better, the SMK scope is alot clearer than the gameking even if you dont touch the parralex. I would advise going into a shop(kieths's sports at saltb

We can take both, hopefully we might be able to find them sets near the wood thats always been too overgrown to see. We can stop off at my dads to zero the rifle in, I dont think there will be many rabbits out in the snow to shoot, but we should get some with the ferts.

Are we going out Paul on Tuesady??? (I am gutted, she has me under orders for the next 2 days)

Without writting it out on here word for word, it is worded not very clear so I phoned up yesterday morning to clarify it. I can basicaly shoot vermin or zero on anywhere I deem suitable. The land I origonaly put on my application has never been assassed but he wants to check it anyway just for a run out, he said if I deem it suitable in the meantime then I am ok to shoot on it until it gets past. I asked him if I have to get all of my permissions past and he said if I am shooting on them regular then it would be a good idea to get him to pass it just incase anyone reports someone with a gun o

How long did it take you to get your FAC?
THE GRIFF replied to LordGamebore's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Took me just over 4 weeks to get my licence from the the day I handed my application form in, 15 days after the interview it was waiting to be picked up from the station. That was with Cleveland police, I couldn't fault them at all with the way they dealt with it. -
After applying for my FAC in November and having my interview cancelled due to the snow it wasn't looking good for me having my licence through for Xmas. My interview was on the 8th of December and I got a phonecall just over a week ago from the firearms department telling me the land I had put down has never been assessed and in will take about 6 weeks to get someone from another force to inspect it. I phoned them back the day after to give them the name of another farmer in my county who has land passed upto a 243 to see if the application could be changed to his land, I was told that it s

How about a 22 hornet, if you are shooting alot of bunnies it will be reasonably cheap to feed if you load your own and will kill fox's to 150 yards. They are also reasonably quiet with a moderator compared to other centrefires. Not a very popular calibre nowadays but under rated, I am currently looking for one for myself.
-
It depends on what you want to shoot with-air rifle, shotgun, firearm ect. The cheapest way to start off would be an air rifle, but you must shoot the rabbits in the head to kill them. Try and get out with someone to see if you enjoy it first and get youself a cheap springer air rifle with a cheap set of scopes to get a bit of practice in on a target board. You will pick a decent air rifle up for under £100 to get you started, less if you shop around. Dont be tempted to just go shooting rabbits straight away, get some practice in first and that way you will be able to hit the rabbits in the h

I am waiting for my FAC to come through and looking at some guns ready for when it does. I currently use a carbine air rifle and find it a perfect length for walking around popping off bunnies. I have put down for a 22 rimmy and think a short barrel will be also be better as I will be using it for a simular job as the air riffle and it will be easier to walk around with. The one I haven't decided on yet is the length of the barrel for the 22 hornet. I will probably be shooting off sticks most of the time if there is nothing to rest on and it will have a moderator on it. What is the advanta

I have nets done both ways and they all work, but the ones fixed at one end I find easier to fold up and put away, they also tend to be easier to get pursed rabbits out of and are easier to untangle. If they arent fixed, I also find the cord often pulls round and the peg isnt sat where it should be, it only takes seconds to pull it right, but if they are fixed its one less thing to do when setting nets.
