Had a trip out to a friends place to try and get me a fallow. Last thing, as I was about to accept the fact that this may not be my day a nice doe showed herself, she didn't play ball at first but soon turned a little more broadside. I took the shot and she dropped where she stood.

Just use the 22-250 then.....................

That's what I was thinking, if he has just been granted his FAC he must have requested calibre/calibres!
-
What calibres do you have stated on your FAC?
-
I have a Nightforce NXS 8-32X56 NP2-DD and rate it very highly, I use it for lamping foxes, stalking and long range varminting. It isnt as good in low light conditions as the Swarovski glass though

Martin, best of luck with the game meat processing business mate

What rifle and calibre do you use ?
Spangle replied to Lloyd90's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
.243AI, Remmy SPS, but I fecked the remmy stock off and put a decent stock on it, it's now a semi custom build. Border barrel, macmillan stock, Nightforce scope, it wears an Atec mod normally but not shown in these pics. With the old Macmillan stock.... I am a .243ai fan, there are better calibres out there for the bigger species, i.e. 6.5, .270 but the .243ai does me for my needs. -
 Thanks mate

This morning saw me stalking with a friend. We arrived at the ground and it wasn't long before we glassed a stag. We were able to get to within a close enough range to enable a nice steady shot so I squeezed the trigger and the bullet found it's intended target. The stag flinched, turned and headed into the field behind him, he was found quite quickly and had only ran on approximately 45yds. A nice pose Loaded and ready for the off. What a cracking morning!

Nice going Wireviz. Do you think it will make a gold? I had a nice young stag this morning whilst stalking

I have a Remington 700 in .243ai, it started life as a .243win Remington SPS. The Remington is a great rifle to build on, a great variety of upgrades available too. Here it is when I first purchased it. And now in its current state It has taken a vast variety of quarry from long range rabbit up to this..... and this... It's quite accurate too. Go Remington and build on it over time -
Why isn't this posted in the general section?
