  1. Lol, he can stay up there so.
  2. Just had a text of my sister, lights up on one of the mountains in the 12 bens tonight, mountain rescue and cops called in. Some plum to be going up there on a day/night like this. Hope it all ends well all the same.
  3. Yup, I wear a liner sock, then the wool one Shortlisted
  4. I dunno, sounds expensive Ideally yeah, but we've too much bog here, often out night after night they'd never get a chance to dry, wellingtons it is I'm afraid. Oh yeah, tried them too
  5. My toes are about to fall off and fly South for the Winter. Reckon my circulation is fecked. I better sort something out for lamping. Tried and disliked heat holders, kept slipping down and wore holes in them in no time Tried long smartwool mountaineering socks, better but expensive, holed them too. Tried battery heated insoles Great if you like to be followed around by a vague whiff or burning, shite if you expect anything else. Currently on Dickies from TK Maxx (temporary measure, hole in one of them now too ) Reckon I'd prefer wool, avoiding cotton like the plague
  6. Happy birthday Lab, remember, free bus pass next time, so take her handy
  7. This is the best and the worst of the internet, we all can share info on what we have/will have, but most of us live too bleedin far away to get to directly compare
  8. Just the one battery for now John but i understand you can buy a seperate battery tube that fit's onto the origional one to accommodate a second battery.. Worth it I would imagine, from reports I've read. No first hand knowledge of it myself.
  9. Tis the season to wish bad things on little gurriers YIS, Victor Meldrew.
  10. Millet, Did you use the NM800 with only one battery? As it's supposed to be better with two using the coloured and (I think) white LED's while the IR can only use one I think.
  11. Twas a bit of a blow alright. Some good pics in the link below. Two stood out for me, the homeless man riding out the hurricane in a bus shelter, and the people standing on the beach with a wall of water in front of them I like the boringly tame weather we get. http://edition.cnn.com/2012/10/25/americas/gallery/weather-sandy/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
  12. Skin some rabbits or foxes, sorted
  13. It's his money, he can buy what he likes with it. I certainly couldn't afford to spend that on a dog. He could be the richest man in his county for all we know. Auctions are funny things. Blackface rams have gone over £100k, but that's pedigree circles, and I do mean circles. Because no, or at least not many, commercial outfits can afford to piddle around with that type of thing. Friends will bid on friends animals to jack up prices, animal may be officially sold, but in reality may not be sold at all. Auctions are as straight as politicians. Take it all with a tub of salt. €650 wi

  15. Tides expected to be 3-4ft higher than normal in New York, add to that the winds (which are lessening) could be a bit of a slag for the locals. Tell ya lad to prepare mate been telling the sis in law to get on with it but she's a wee bit unusual she went out for supplies and returned home with eye drops, a new bin for the bathroom and two tubs of Pringles lol then she sent my mrs a msg asking should she get ice cream  She should, then she can decide whether to throw it in the new bin or eat it real quick and risk brain freeze

  17. I've ordered the Crelant, hopefully it'll arrive to coincide with the dark time of the moon and maybe the weather will even co-operate
  18. Cheers Mush, As far as my reading has got me, Neutral white is indeed better for seeing colours, so would be better for hunting. The EagleTac site reckoned their cool white LED would be about 7-10% brighter but made colours look different, less natural. So I reckon I am going for the Neutral white. Your link pretty much confirms my bit of digging on it
  19. Kids woke me at half 6 Or was it half 7 Or half 8 Fuckit I don't know but they woke me anyway! Spent my hour letting dogs out, stepping in dog shit, cooking brekkies and being a grumpy b*****d
  20. Quick question on my Crelant 7G5CS, the seller has emailed me asking if I was sure I wanted the "Neutral White-T6 3C" LED tint as I picked on their site. The other option is the "Cool White - U2 1A" which they say throws farther. An extremely important part of my hunting is colour definition, I am led to believe (unless I have picked this up wrong) that the Neutral White LED tint will be better on colour definition than the Cool White?
  21. I've just bought a Crelant 7g5 v2 with the collimator head. Looking at the beam shots online the hotspot of the Crelant seems larger than the hotspot of the NM800. But in fairness the NM800 is adjustable so may fare better for rifle hunting than the Crelant.
  22. I bet I could kill one Always said companies should send me stuff to product test, am like a one man disaster zone
