  1. I know Padraig, he's not the same man that he was before the incident. A bit of a threatened species, minded his own business, not a bad word about anyone. Singled out and victimised over a long period of time by the scum of the earth. Anyone is capable of anything when they're driven to it.
  2. Paraffin heater is a good idea, I won't have any leccy where I'll eventually put a greenhouse or tunnel.
  3. Cold weather forecast, so I've covered the seed spuds with a double layer of fleece, still indoors, just that shed ain't the warmest.
  4. I thought the DIY option with water pipe was a great thing, until I priced the proper pipe
  5. Yeah, I spray for blight so it doesn't bother me We all gonna die of something
  6. That's why it should be optional, not global. Taking the Gazza thread again, had anyone quoted me in that yesterday, would I go trawling through all of them pages to find it, would I hell. But, if I was interested in comments made quoting my post then it would be quick and easy to find. I turned off the "like post" alert on the other forum, also the alerts for when a new post was added to a thread I contributed to, I found that cut down the alerts by 90%.
  7. No, maybe next year I might try a few. I've seen a fair bit of talk about them online and in books, there seem a lot of very mixed reviews on the taste. I think they're fairly popular with the organic crowd. Some online places have three or four seed spuds of different varieties, which would be handy for trying out a new variety without having to have a full bag of something it turned out ya didn't like.
  8. Assembled my first frame tonight, managed to break the wedge, put a pin out through the top, and cut my thumb I like to get all my mistakes out of the way good and early
  9. Try harder! Lost me there John... Shotgun is made for shooting stuff on the move, just swing through him and he'll go down.
  10. You're as bad as me with the amount of different varieties
  11. Aha! They are not Pink Fir Apple, they are Ratte, which I have never heard of lol........ A second early I think.
  12. If you were closer I'd be around your place some night with a pocket full of stones
  13. Well don't be shy about it, pack the better one up and send it over here
  14. Very tidy now I must say, mine, as usual will be an experiment in organised chaos! You've got a greenhouse, I'm jealous
  15. Lmao, give that man a medal, it was a close run thing but he got there in the end
  16. There's only one man that can sort this shit out...
  17. Saw an option on a new site today. I could go into my settings there and I could select to be notified if anyone were to quote one of my posts in a thread. I thought that was a really handy option, for example go into the Gazza thread, I had no interest in the topic per se but the option to be notified had anyone quoted my post in that thread would have been a lot more valuable than just globally following the thread and sorting through many, many multi quote posts. Maybe we have it here already, if we don't, we should.
  18. It works for you because it's your account. Your library or particular album is set to private, which is why I (and I presume everyone else) can't see the picture. If the photo is in an album, click on that album, up top there should be a button More with a down arrow beside it. Click that and click Edit settings. Down the bottom of the pop up box it will allow you to select the privacy settings of that album. If the photo is in your main library and you want to keep that private, I would make a new album, make it public, and move the photo to that album.
  19. i shall try again ffs as this is my twin brothers account http://s575.beta.photobucket.com/user/jackoleeds/story/6641 I hope you twins have a triplet out there cos that photobucket account is private
  20. Yeah, actually depth in ridges was something I had been thinking of this very evening, but in relation to carrots. What spacing and how many rows do you use in your ridges Paid? Interesting that you say you got more spuds.
  21. So, continuing my quest of all things potato... Last year I sowed all my spuds in drills. I was happy with the results, save for not leaving myself enough space to work between rows. This year I had planned to sow everything in ridges. . Now, here's the hard part. I have been told it's traditional to have three rows of spuds in a ridge, ten inches apart. On the seed spud bags the advice is for drills and says 24-30 inches apart for rows. I would like to maximise my yield. I'm half tempted to sow half in ridges, half in drills and see which does better Has anyone here
  22. I wasn't overly impressed with Aran Pilot last year, it was OK, maybe I was expecting too much I'm not sure.
