rickyspringer replied to Sully's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
agree with sandymere bitch had something very similar recently, 4 staples later and right as rain, have to watch out for the feeling of bubblewrap as mentioned as a drip may be needed, I was lucky that my bitch's cleared. GOOD LUCK mate -

Good Luck with rehoming pal, gutted for you and nice to have a true honest post, what about keeping them and setting up a kennel & run in the garden, the missus and baby won't be near them then, just a thought GOOD LUCK mate -
like the dam alot, the sire has the same expression as my youngster, "wants to go", roma is a good name, i like roman for a dog, whats her intended use mate?? She's a real cracker!
-
GOOD LUCK with it pal

First of all she is gorgeous mate, tell us more about her & what is her intended use, she is welcome at my kennels anytime haha I like Teal alot, aswell as Bracken. Pippa aswell, sure more will give you some ideas, Good Luck with her

DO NOT WORRY, you have the basics in there, all what you need now is your missus or your daughter to walk the dog, working on the basics which are there so no faults should arise, Just keep ground rules, no playing fetch, always keep the dog in control. making sure he obeys the recall, and general lead work, no faults will arise and when your back you will be able to really crack on with training then, he will be at the perfect age, NO need to send him away or take any drastic action

I enjoy it, especially when its going right... good luck with the new pup and let us know how it goes The only thing i don't like is the house breaking
-
thanks mate, will let him know

if possible bricks and mortar, far better job mate, just have a timber kennel as mentioned with adequate insulation, if your going for it properly don't forget the drains.

tell me about it mate, no point in the breeding but she's not my dog and he has waited 4 or 5 years and now he wants a pup. They will all end up with his mates, so homes are sorted but the thing is will they be good homes. Just need a little info on the C-Section as this will put him off, if its a high probabilty. Thanks pal

Hi all, Asking this question as brother in law's bitch has started a season, he finally wants a pup out of her and has homes lined up for the pups to mates. Will give you some info on the whole situation now, the bitch is a half cross pitt to a american bull. Very pitt looking just a little taller,he doesn't want to line her with a pitt as he doesn't want potential dogs he has bred being put to sleep, if the old bill or any other authority realise they are a banned breed. Now he has a Am-bull lined up to line her, I have done a little research and found out there is the chance of c

sandymere thats the response I was after its so simple its unreal, I will simply include more fat into his diet, I do include veg fat as its gives the dogs a nice coat, Thanks mate.
-
thanks for the responses, I think the reasons for him being skinny is the phase he is at, very much like a sausage roll on 4 matchsticks, secondly I think that it may be due to the winter lots of dogs lose that bit of weight in the winter, thirdly he is extremely active. He is a great eater, I have up'd his intake of 4 meals a day now, I regularly include bits & bobs in his diets, tripe, eggs any left overs. Skycat his stools are extremly firm, on the raw and now, I must admit that he did have loose ones when he was younger but that was due to far too much tripe, wasn't includi

Right all I have a youngster who is at the leggy stage, he's about 8 months old now, he's a Spaniel, but his stature is very poor- looks whippet like, rangy legs and very slim backend, need to sort this out as had a few comments that he looks too much underweight, especially stood next to my older more solid built bitch. He was wormed yesterday so see how that goes, started to feed little and often, with a better high protein feed! Now I want more advice on bulking him up, what foods are good - any methods which help with dogs holding there weight. And Raw bones ruled out, he

Taker sounds a very good mix, get the images up of sire & dam! Just seen a add on another forum for some steady bushers, cocker X Border Terrier, should be handy and rather biddable.
