Please help me find my best friends working dog
waidmann replied to Cartridge_Gal's topic in Gundogs & Retrievers
All the best in getting her back Waidmannsheil !!! -
Try the drill on it, it may not be tempered at the handle end ( cutting oil will help the drill bit get through, make sure it's firmly secured before drilling...... The last thing in the world you want is a ground... Semi sharp blade spinning at a rapid rate of knots at waist height or near the "man veg" If it won't drill it's hard ( you will see very quickly that the bit has no purchase) try a new bit if hat won't touch it then you may need some help ( there are various ways to get into hard steel, the easiest would be to give it to someone else to do lmao!!!) Good luck bud, Wai

It is part of the trials for gsp in Germany to retrieve a fox over an obstacle so it is very likely the picture is real lol This is in part the reason that German hpr have been increasing in size and stature over the last 20 years or so ( the time that I have been around working dogs really, mainly in Germany ) A nice picture all the same. The machine seems to be good for the money, no probs with the mincing and filled the skins well too. It looked easy enough to clean but I made sure I was at home eating the goodies before that happend lmao Well worth a go fellas

The damage caused by raccoon in Germany by both species is immense (financial and ecological!!!) The very idea of intentionally introducing them to Britain preposterous . There are some very good documentaries around mostly filmed in the Kassel area of hessen which show very well the damage caused by raccoon in urban areas, they make Charlie look like a cherub! Stripping roofs, removing insulation blocking chimneys to name just a few. Bins and skips have to be locked down ( I have seen a video where there were twelve of the buggers in one skip feeding, scrapping and making a right

Yep I can remember very well an easy cock bird straight at me, I had just done my German hunting licence a few weeks before. I remember most of my first kills very well ( fallow, roe, red deer, wild pigs, fox, badger, raccoon,Martin, raccoon dog and even weasels lol ) It's a great sport we have. Waidmannsheil!!!!

Zipped wellingtons or wide fitting etc
waidmann replied to canaliculata's topic in Hunting Boots & Clothing
I had the le chameu zipped ones with the lamb fur in. The best Welles I have ever had without a doubt, bloody expensive but good. I had them for about four years and now my brother uses them ( he has had them for around three years now) the zip is still spot on and the soles still good. I am sure there are boots is good for less money but I would recommend these all day bud. Waidmannsheil!!!!!! -
help needed with my knife blanks
waidmann replied to slim1122's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
You can get tru oil on eBay bud, -
keep your chin up matt we have the advantage that we have little or no pressure to get these things done/finished, i have been at this one on and off since i got it i dragged a file down the blade while changing abit of the finger stop so had to grind down to the "hooks" and re finish. i like the felt alot and will do another blade with just that ( or maybe another nice wood with it??) i have been inspired by the posts of others who have made some knives and given the "nudge" when i found the humanely priced blanks by you. keep at it bud waidmannsheil!!
