  1. Matt that is no letter opener! It's a falconry stillette if ever I saw one. Put it on eBay twice lol. Waidmannsheil!
  2. I likea larger knife too, I am also an ex butcher ( cannot stand blunt knives!!!!!!!!! Too much like hard work) and an ex keeper ( I often used a bigger blade as we had boar as regulars), Now I use mainly a carbon steel blade with reindeer horn and ivy handle ( 10 cm blade) when shooting And a set from matt for the falconry ( newly purchased, still virgin!!) which has a 2cm gutting blade and a despatch spike/ stillette. Horses for courses but I would rather have a bit more length than be too short for the job lol. ( comments from the waidfrau are to be ignored lmao) The quality of
  3. There are some very usefull teckel around in Germany ( deutschen teckel club ) Bred for any Occasion. They are the most versatile hunting dog I have owned. A lot of bottle in a wee dog. Waidmannsheil!!!!

There is a lady in Cheshire that sells turkey poults and quail bud, I have always been very pleased with the quality and prices. Pm me if you would like the number.
  7. Not been on for a while, I would like the not yet sold one please matt. Also how much would it be to handle one of the second batch with a matching falconry spike bud? Drop me a pm please. Did you ever get any small hatchets done? Cheers Mike.
  8. No licence needed for captive bred birds bud.
  9. Good little workers ( from working stock), The only drawback is leg length in snow or heather etc. That they are unintelligent, weak or lack bottle and nose I put down as utter rubbish which I suppose could be written about any breed ? I would be interested to hear of the wealth of experience you have gathered working these dogs hedz?
  10. Mine can see out of the weathering on all sides mate, neighbours gardening/ hanging out washing and having a barbecue lol They will have a moan if it gets too much but it keeps them occupied I think. Both in top fettle. Looking forward to getting them pulled, coped, kitted out and the manning started again. The spar is first out I think, when she is hunting I will pull the other two.
  11. Both harris's are nearly done moulting. ( Bacchus mhh flew dead on 1 lb and cass fhh just at 2lb at the end of the season ) Both to be flown at rabbit, pheasant etc etc The spar ( ruby) is just pushing her new tail ( about bloody time too!!) To be flown at magpies mainly. Waidmannsheil
  12. Great stuff bud, I hood mine too. Always good to have the option if needed! Look forward to hearing more of her mate. Mike
  13. If the lad wants something that shoots straight I doubt it will come for that money mate ( in shit state with no scope won't help him much at all) My advice would be to concentrate on a caliber he can make most use of and go for quality ( ie spend the whole budget on the gun, scope,a quantity of ammo and any cleaning kit he will need. Not to forget a safe) Buy quality and don't regret it ( as with any TOOL a craftsman will be using most days) I wish the lad the very best of luck. Waidmannsheil!!
  14. Both harriss are moulted pretty much ( male + female to be flown in a cast again if my patience allows lol) The spar is pushing he tail well and should be ready in a couple of weeks ( magpies watch out!!!!!!!) My mate has a young male gos to get going on magpie/ crow ( first kill last night!!!! ) to later be moved onto game ( I think that's the plan lol ) which is full filing the falconry needs at the moment. Very much looking forward to getting the spar going and then busting bunnies with the hh!! Falconersheil !!
  15. Are on eBay for about 26 quid mate, I have one from there for mine and it's fine.
  16. It's a Bisam rat or nutria, A real pest in Germany too. Imported from north america and set free by activists in Europe. They are supposed to taste very good and are sold under the name " swamp beaver" Waidmannsheil!!
  17. Quality of the materials is not to be overlooked ( hemp and good rings would be my choice). Cheap is sometimes a false economy.
