A member on here asked how do others secure their fenn traps , I said I use para cord , Heritage posted that he does not as it's easily chewed through , I thought (mistakenly) that para cord was up to the job , until I thought I'd lost one , I found it about 18 inches further down the rabbit hole I have learnt my lesson ,
  6. Bummer , I have the same problem , it's about 50/50 who gets my rabbits ,well I say my rabbits , I should say our rabbits , whats the plan Micky are you going to just live with it or is the fox gona get it
  7. I like to attach mine to a fence with para cord , failing that some 12inch stake's well into some solid ground , as they need to be solid due to any opportunistic fox coming round and pulling the fenn about trying to get the rabbit fenns are too expensive to loose like that ,

  9. You got the trap set round the wrong way you doughnut! John I cant set the mole snares wrong I think the mole was trying to be clever by backing into it
  10. Arron I have seen mice taking whole hazel nuts in their mouths from my cage traps , I was suprised just how much they can get in their gobs , also too light to set the trap off

  15. Bought mine from John about 2 years ago , been in the ground in all weathers , genuine UK fenns still going strong and don't half go off with a snap OUCH , I always wear leather gloves just in case
  16. Kenny I use 4 strand brass wire in summer , and 6 strand wire in winter , I do use the snares more than once until they do become too damaged , then it's time to replace them , Kenny have you learned to "re-tension" them ?

  19. Yep they do like a free an easy meal , when I put fenns and snares out the fox takes 50%

  21. Fenn's are quite interesting when they go off and there's a finger in that really small gap between the jaws OUCH.
  22. Ferrit when I set my fenns I always wear leather gloves because when you get it wrong (an you will) when they snap shut it bloody hurts , also if you want to spring one shut use the sole of your boot on the plate , good luck mate
