  1. we all have different opinions and thats whats make the world go round
  2. I can't debate with someone who has such a far greater knowledge than myself on the matter. I'd only be flogging a dead horse. i suspect a hint of sarcasim lol we all have our different thoughts on subjects. each to there own and happy hunting to ya! wont waste me ol fingers on typing anymore on the off topic sublect lol
  3. very good reply i thought i was have a debate with someone that knew what they were on about!! if ya want to see some dead hares at big events in there enclosures then take a look in youtube :secret: your obviously in that group aint ya!!!
  4. Now it's obvious your talking about something you know very little about. some do run for the sport of the dog against the hare but is a rare thing. as you said they condition there dogs and the grey,s are at 100% fitness. they are a sight to see and have incredible speed. but at a private meet i was at this season there was big money on the dogs running!!! at the end of the day thats what it is! a moneys game!!! if you say different then your just trying to bluff. as irish lurcher men know the score with these folk!! hares get lost in transit and thats the norm as iv been to quit
  5. coursing clubs are good for the conservation of hares? that is a hard one to make an argument for lol yes they do buy and breed hares and release them to there own permission. alot where hares are scarce. but then when big events come uo they go in and net the hares and take to to the event.alot of the hares dont make the travel due to stress, some get stressed out on the run or thereafter being kept in a compound or run if if want to call it that. some of the hares that have been born and grown up on there land are captured and run by 2 muzzled grey,s on a field unknown to the hare.not v
  6. I'd love you to explain that for me if you find the time please. i think down south alot of the hare land is coursing?club land where lurcher men are not permitted. if lurcher men are caught on these lands then beatings, cars are wrecked, lurchers are shot is the norm. the greyhound coursing lads in the south in my opinion is for making money from betting and thats it.for us working lurchers lads they are a thorn in our backside lol. you would think these coursing lads would know country pursuits? i was ferreting last winter. after i had done a day,s sport and was gutting the rabbits i
  7. as for not walking for there run then that is the case with alot. i usually only do rabbits myself but did walk some land for 4 hours for 2 runs. for me i dont care to much about the run but to see the hare makes my day. out hawking we could have killed many hares in a fostery i hunt but wahts the point.

  17. cheers for all the comments lads. to answer sme questions. the outside runs are galvnized pannels from irish fencing in cork. they fit alot of work on security buildings. all the fitting, builing was done by the brother and i except for the electrics. yes there is a soakway.the outside runs slope from back to front with a soakway dug and topped off with 20mm stone at the doors of the kennels. soakway is the bout 3ft wide by 4ft deep and the length of the kennels
