  1. some dont make the grade though no matter how good the trainer.. its rare but does happen and in that case then they should never be passed onto working homes only pet or pts!
  2. very very true lad.. everyone is different and thats what makes the world go round.
  3. 6ftx4ft???? how wide are your slabs lad? they look like normal size 18" slabs and its about 2 1/2 wide at the most which is 3ft 6 " across by the looks of it around 2 -2 1/2ft deep too!!!!
  4. i dont take pics of my sea fishing gear but scent,s pic is a good example for a beach casting setup. you can use multipable hooks like droppers in fly fishing and depending in what your after be it cod, flounder, whiting, bass e.t.c then the hook size will vary as will bait selection.. if your after something that passes the time and to get some quick sport then rock fishing into deep water for wrasse is great fun.a cigar float using hardback crab or barnecles can be productive. also rock fishing using a clonakilty lure is deadly for pollack. iv found also that darker lures red/black very goo
  5. it seems like that if your dog dont run fen hares then other coursed hares are classed in the same league as rabbits is a fen rabbit then harder than catching a hare in a different location? seems to be all nonsese to me. anyway great to hear from other folk that have small dogs that could catch hares pre-ban as it not the size of the dog but the size of the heart that the dogs possess ps have not killed that many but the bro,s dog who is only 22" has killed 18 hares this season.
  6. i remember it alright pal a bloody good night ,its a pity that wheaten cross didnt make the grade on foxes when i had him but shephound was glad to take him for bunnies and by god he got some big bags with him.First night i gave him to him he had 22 so just goes to show wheaten crosses arent just big quarry dogs. That small black lurcher you had that night really opened my eyes aswell ,id never seen a lurcher work that way before ,top class pal was a good craic that night till i puled out the hatchet ol jack might not have done the biz on fox but he sure made an excellent lamping dog. he

  18. i think its very important that a lurcher to be stock broken. iv been lucky that a good friend of mine who is a farmer(also alot of rabbits on his land) has sheep, egg laying ducks, chickens and pigs. iv brought mine up around his livestock since they were pups and they have never looked to grab any of his which was good for me as when i got into birds of prey the dogs are sound with them also. saying that on a walk recently there were a pair of mallard ducks in late evening grazing on some grass. had one of my dogs off the lead and he looked at em so i gave em the "get em" as we were unusu
