I would like to stress that no matter what you will do with your hide, proper fleshing and salting are the two first steps that can never be skipped or cut short. One should keep in mind that salt will not penetrate fat and meat - so if you fail to flesh and remove ALL fat and meat before salting your hide, those areas will not be cured.
