  1. I'm after a semi auto shotgun with low recoil. At first i thought about a Hatsan Escort, but now i have been reading about the Berreta A300 Outlander. Which has the least recoil?, is there a semi with better recoil out there?. What ever i get must be left handed as well. Hi. If you are buying new there are only Benelli, Hatsan or Fabarm that do left hand. I've just ordered a Fabarm for wildfowling(you can use steel shot with all the chokes that are supplied, 2/10, 5/10, 7/10 and 9/10) Google it and you'll see what they are like. I'm chopping in a Benelli M2 for it. DD
  2. Hi. The only way is to get a single shot adapter and load them manually. DD
  3. Hi. I used them a few years ago inside a barn on pigeons that were messing up a stock of barley, two of us had 74 in 3 hours, the range was about 15 to 20 feet. DD
  4. Hi. When I applied for mine I stated that I had invited a few friends on my shoots on various occasions and with an open ticket they could return the favour. The friends that I invited had open tickets of course. DD
  5. Hi. West yorkshire is 18 months, then apply in writing. That's what they told me and it worked OK but that was a few years ago. DD
  6. Hi. Cut it down to 14 inches, rethread and recrown, you'll be amazed how it will handle. There's a gun smith in Brighouse who will do it at the right money(he used to be at Kirklees Guns but he's on his own now) Just google it and you'll find it. DD
  7. i would be carefull to say zeroing on private land too buddy -it states in the firearms act -only zero on home office approved ranges - just advice not critasism Hi. It states on my ticket:-The .22RF rifle and .22 moderator and ammunition shall be used for shooting vermin and for zeroing on ranges or ON LAND OVER WHICH THE HOLDER HAS LAWFULL AUTHORITY TO SHOOT DD
  8. If the wording is as above you do not have an open condition on your ticket. DD
  9. Hi. I have a Richards stock on my CZ which looks just as good but it took a great deal of fitting, there was more wood on the floor when I had finished and it took hours of work, saying that I enjoy working with wood and I am very pleased with the result. Richards say that their stocks are 99% finished but I would say 70% is nearer. DD
  10. I have been looking around and wandering what the the remmis like? good, accurate. subsonic ? The gun is a Sako Finnfire is that helps, also any other brand wpuld be appriciated. Thanks, whippeter Hi. I've tried them all and Eley subs are the best for me (CZ varmint) DD
  11. No need to be facetious DD. It DOES happen. I've done it myself 3 times on rabbits over the last 45 years but I think you need to lighten up a bit and take things with a pinch of salt(don't tell me you believed it)
  12. Hi. Duck shooting in Dumfries a few years back a couple of teal sprang from a burn we were walking. I swung through and dropped both birds but at the same time a salmon was leaping which got caught in the pattern and landed on the far bank. When we went to retreive the fish we found that the shot had carried through and dropped a rabbit. On picking up the rabbit we saw it was laid on a pound of mushrooms. DD
  13. Hi. If you are using a shotgun for traditional driven shooting you need your tight choke first and open choke as the birds get closer. DD
  14. Hi. Try Swillington shooting supplies, they've allways done me and my mates proud and loads of new or s/h stuff. DD
  15. How does the magnum work in licencing terms as it is still a rimmy can it be held on a .22Rf catogory or is that a little frowned upon? Hi. West Yorkshire won't allow magnums on a ticket that just says .22rf (not even to buy ammo) but South Yorks and Greater Manchester will. DD
  16. Hi Lee. My mate has just bought one and it is A1 up to now. I have a Benelli M2 and this is nothing like, the Beretta is more like the Benelli Da Vinci. There is only 3 chokes with the ES 100 and no case but for £740 it is a bargain. DD
  17. Hi. If you are going for the gunstalls don't bother. Four of us went yesterday with a long list of items we wanted and pockets full of cash, the only thing we bought was grub, which was very expensive(maybe thats the fault of the organisers for charging too much ground rent per stall). We can buy most of the stuff locally and cheaper, we won't be going again. DD
  18. Hi. I have an open certificate for .22 rimfire and just last week I asked 3 diffrerent dealers if I could purchase some .22 WMR ammo(I use a .22wmr on a colleagues permission sometimes) and all three said no, one of them even went to the trouble of asking West Yorkshire Police Firearms Department, who said WMR ammo can only be bought if specified on the certificate. DD
  19. Hi. I have a Benelli M2 which is probably more than you want to pay and is the best semi I've ever had but if you can stretch a few more quid have a look at the Beretta ES 100. It's a brand new model(Benelli inertia action with Beretta barrel). My mate has just got one and it is a brilliant shotgun, retail about £875 but he got his for £740. I've used it and it is on my list if I need another semi. DD
  20. ???????????????? Surely the other way round!! Definately the other way round. DD
  21. It doesn't matter where you live you can still be a member of SACS and if you are registered on here it is only £22 a year.
  22. Hi. I have a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10 x40 which is ideal for me.I have had it for 2 years and when I got it from J.S. Ramsbottom it was on special offer. DD
  23. Hi. Why not get a Benelli, they beat them all.
  24. I was just wondering what you Cz owners feel is the most accurate and reliable ammo for your .22's. Hi. I have tried most subs and found Eley to be the best, CCI,s the worst.
