  1. Hi all i have a couple of jills and a hob here all workers, however they are all bolt or kill merchants, if the rabbit is arse up they will only stay for a short time. Whether they come off to try and find another way to reach the rabbits head or just give up, i cant be sure. but they wont stay,

Was just wondering if anyone is breeding stock that tends to throw stickers, that i could buy, then i'll be sorted all ways.

    all the best.

    just let me know,

I have a jill which is very similar. I know if she is arsed up with a rabbit. It is very unusual that she won`t turn it but if she can`t she gets bored, then she`ll show then go back, show then go back. Personally, i wouldn`t have her any other way. At some point she`ll show and i`ll pick her up, give up on the rabbit and move on. I don`t enjoy digging so she suits me fine. basil.

thing is mate sometimes you may be leaving more than 1 rabbit backed up a stop and dont look good to leave rabbits if they can be dug, plus i like digging.

Just need to a few from good staying hob and gill, all have their use.

    all the best

  2. the lack of replies could be numberous reasons

firstly your location, no good me saying Ive got some in essex, because of the distance, or as keepers havent produced young yet, they may not want to count their chickens before they hatch, so to speak

give it another month or two and maybe try asking again

Just testing the water so to speak, distance not too much of an issue i travel a lot all over can always sort something out for the right stock.

    all the best.

  5. I sit here asking for HELP!!

In the past I have been able to take the dogs ratting at a stable yard where a friend keeps her Horses, I have also been able to go to a local farm, friends of person who keeps Horses! However, she has moved her Horses and the land owner wont allow it, full stop, in fact he is a miserable git! (but the grazing is good! ;) )

Problem is my pup needs to get out now, he needs to work among other dogs. My older border has a few problems now, so I dont do anything but marking and trailing with him, my bitch still works Rats, Squirrels, Rabbits etc. but will NOT compete for a Rat or a Squirrel. She was attacked as a youngster 4 times doing terrier racing, twice at Chatsworth and since will not get stuck in if another Terrier is there, she works brilliantly by herself, but if another dog tries to grab what she has got, she drops it, she will also hang back if other dogs are piling in. The pup needs to do something now, my "Ratting" access has gone, and wondered if anyone would be willing to take me along with said pup. I cant tell you how he will behave, but at least I will find out!

    Many thank yous!

    Dawn.

Hi mate if wolvey/leicester is within reasonable distance, a fortnight tomorrow we are mopping up the rats on the shoot, we're expecting some great results.

Whilst ferreting there this season we've bolted dozens of rats along with the rabbits.

We will be letting a pup see its first rats too, so yours wont make any difference, there will be about 8 terriers out which have all worked together and with others at various times, so should be no problems.pm me if interested 2 people allowed.

    cheers

  6. Hi, just seen your ad. I have a 14 month old whippet to sell she's red in colour and stands around 19/20 inch. She's a well behaved bitch good on and off lead, comes straight back when you call her etc. She's like the racing type. If you are interested i can email you some pics.

hi a good friend of mine is looking to buy a whippet bitch, what price ,location, reason for parting etc.

you can PM if you prefer,

    many thanks . ;)
