    I take it you went then Watchman, I was working at a place along the A3 on Friday in the pissing down of rain.......seen the usual Lammys stuck at the side of the road with their owners huddled up in their scooter jackets.........had nostalgia for about 30 seconds then remembered being a 15 year old kid, piss wet through and all my beer tokens spent trying to work out how to blag it home and thought.........f**k THAT!

    Not to poke my nose in lads but i agree with Sky to an extent......in my opinion it depends on the the nature of a dog as an individual Wilf.......some young dogs are happy to take a back seat and never quite push their chest right out with an older more experienced dog by their side.....others will go at it with even more conviction simpy because theres another dog with them.....its a fine line with no set rules you just have to treat every dog as an individual in my opinion Fair point Gnasher, but I only mean the initial introduction to certain quarry.....after that, then of course a

    Human nature, everyone gets excited about a pup.......especially if its out of decent stuff..........no shame in it.. The fact that it then never fulfils the dreams of the owner is no reflection of the lad IMHO, as I said, sometimes things just dont work out.

    If the lad has done his best, what more can he do?.......its no reflection on him. As for judgement, all you can do is judge if the parents were worth breeding from and you take a pup on the chance that if its as good as its parents then you get what you want. You have to qualify this with the fact that it may get raised in a different environment to its parents and live in an area where its oppertunitys to experience all the things its parents did may be limited........so the dog may never be as good as the parents. Theres a lot of factors involved, its not just black and white......

    I have been told that back when it was legal, some foxes will twist and turn with the best of them, hug the hedgerows, not come to a call and generally be very hard to pin down.........other times they will sprint in to their death, 4 yds and its all over.
