  1. Windy, keep quiet when the grown ups are talking! lol
  2. I think, like horses, you get good "doers" and bad "doers"............if you get a bad doer, its a f*****g nightmare JMHO
  3. I would say 50 was a decent amount and more so if your were running at mixed quarry over the course of the season.
  4. A fellow member of "The List" ............!!!!
  5. if you mean they likely to run off and eat it i dont think this is the case,i asked about it few weeks ago dont think anyone really had any major problems...................good luck with the pups nightstalker The big fat f****r in my kennel will do it now and again, he bit one in half the other night and swallowed the head and rib cage before I could get him under control but for me, its not the end of the world........its so rare that it dont matter.
  6. I have seen red hinds that were only around the size of a fallow buck, the op would have had 31 runs on hares.........thats approx 15 for each dog or 31 doubled up.........on large fields that would destroy a dog as I know only too well. So those numbers dont stack up at all, but I also know that I have not been everywhere in the country so until I went to the place it was done and saw it with my own eyes I would never say never.
  7. We are talking about Minshaws mate
  8. Honest awnser, in the south, no way............in some of those walled fields up there...........its a f*****g tall order and I have never seen a dog that could or even been out with someone that would attempt it.........and if thats your area and you say no, then I have to bow to your better knowledge mate
  9. 50 odd what if you say hares mate????? i'm hunting a long time and this is some land yous have .fair play lads No sorry you misunderstand, you said "144 bits of game" that included rabbits, 7 hares and some roe.......least I think thats what the bloke said, so I think that can be done. All I will say is, I have seen a lot of people say things are bollocks, when I know they have and can be done.........
  10. Whats the terrain like in that area mate?...........have you run a lot in that area? (and no I am not being a funny c**t, genuine question)
  11. A lad did 50 odd the other night with his young dog, so why not?
  12. RE: Minshaws..........I have heard very good things from lads that never talk nonsense, so I dont really doubt those claims in that area.
  13. I think the question should be "where was it done" rather than what dogs or their age..........that would pretty much tell you all you need to know. Personally, I have only visited one place where you could see in excess of 40 hares in a night. What type of ground did they get ran on?
  14. When I have seen it, they will twist and turn as normal sometimes coming back up the beam, my personal opinion is that they get disorientated rather than blinded when twisting and turning a lot, except when the ears go back and they make for the horizon.......then they aint stopping for anyone.
  15. No, not experienced, I did it once thats all mate.........I often see posts that say they are childs play on the lamp but its just as TOMO says, some run just as well on big open ground and are deffo not easy.........and imho, its not worth running more than a few on that type of ground that holds strong hares
  16. Some would say no, I would say they still made my dog nearly work himself into the ground..........no slip was shorter than about 60 yds and most 100yds plus.........on those big wheat deserts they sure could move. Most will have better dogs than me, so for them it may have been easier.
  17. Inan is one of the members on here who talks sense and has knowledge of hare coursing, so dont be too quick to jump on him as to some blokes lamping hares is just not something you do........each to their own.
  18. I once ran12 one night with a single dog and broke the dog.........I make no appologies for doing it, but with hindsight it was a rediculous thing to do and I would never attempt that type of thing again on big open fields like that.......I had to ask myself why and the honest awnser is because they were there and because I got carried away.......none of them were kick ups! Sometimes the hardest thing is to put your brain in gear
  19. How very dare you!!..............nah..............Hannah took it! LOL Snoopy, it has just turned 12 months old Simoman,it has taken moths of training to get him ball licking
  20. Nice one CP, theres still people around like that, its what mates do.......
