    IMHO, working terriers will put most lurchers to shame.....when you see a good one it lets you know the meaning of heart & guts..........if you ever own a lurcher that is as good as a working terrier then you have something very special indeed to my mind.

    Stu, As always a well thought out and reasonable reply but I have to take you up on a couple of things? What is classed as "cruel" or "suffering"?............I only ask because in lots of stalking accounts (yours included) it plainly states that a shot beast has run on for sometimes 100yds plus before dieing........would that not be classed as suffering or cruel seeing as it was not instant? As for poachers using guns and bows, well stalkers use guns and bow hunting is widesparead in the united states.......so who is the judge of the poacher or the bow hunters skill with rifle or bow?

    Just as an aside, I find it funny when women are called "dirty birds".......women are no different to men, they love a night of entertainment as much as the next human being.........nothing wrong with that at all !!     No they didnt, however I did take a pal round to share in the experience of the Mum and she was very happy to accomodate the two of us.....a rewarding experience for all concerned that night

    Agree, theres something about all of them........used to ride a bird when I was 18, she lived with her mum who was a divorced 40 something and 20+ stone and I would on occasion if the daughter wasnt home (or getting ready up stairs) ride the mum too! The mum was a much better ride by far.........always like older birds when I was that age, they knew a few things older birds fine, 20+ stone....WTF!!!     Sensible post but some folk just have the type of mindset that when they have seen decent dogs run, they find it hard to accept anything less and imho, there is nothing wrong with that attitude.......I dont think jealousy or greed come into it, some people are just made that way. Same as there is nothing wrong with a bloke who is just happy with his dogs no matter what he keeps.........
