Let’s take it back 40 years, an English speaking enclave with a population that is ethnic British living on territory that geographically belongs to someone else…..the country with the geographic and historical claim take back that region and then we (rightly) respond with military force. And that was 8000 miles away so no military threat from hostile power holding that ground. I genuinely don’t know the answer here so please tell me, what’s the difference between that and an ethnic Russian area in Ukraine which is where, I believe, this all stems from ?

Do you think Putin wants Ukraine or do you think he just don’t want the EU to have it…..because I think the answer to that is the answer to everything brother. What’s the difference between an invasion from the east or an invasion from the west ? Because one uses tanks and the other uses a bank account (that you pay for) ?

Because those border states are meaningless in the grand scheme, their size/geography/topography/resources make them irrelevant ?……but Ukraine is a different story, you holding that is a force multiplier in terms of resources at you disposal ?

Because there’s f**k all in it for him?…..the EU don’t need these states beyond just improving the size of the bloc, but Ukraine with its size and its agricultural & industrial potential is another story….a very big story.

I don’t think it’s horse shit brother, they have form, it’s what they do…..and I also believe that Putin knows they wouldn’t stop at Ukraine…once they had their hand on that then the mission would turn to sowing the seeds of discontent in Russia to create the conditions for another land grab. It’s a strange time we live in where many, many men want to be famous for being violent men. Doing violence or being regarded as violent used to be reserved for very tiny sections of society and was actually just a means to an end, a tool for a job…….now it seems like the end goal itself. As the old saying goes, it’s not big and it’s not clever and that is what is so cringe about it all.

What an exciting time, watching some plain, hard truths getting dished out is very entertaining. If anyone thinks you can eradicate the last 50 years of absolute societal poison with nice, polite, sensible conversations then I suggest you have no concept of just how bad our situation is……..we are at deaths door as a culture, a society and as peoples and bringing you grapes won’t do the job, it’s a full on stand back and hit them with electric shocks job that’s required.

Completely agree about Reform, I was pro reform and I like some of their policy’s……but I now view them as nothing but a tool to maybe break the two party system. I don’t consider myself pro reform any longer beyond that goal….. These born again patriots joining from Tory (and some Labour) have left a very bad taste in my mouth ! I won’t ever forgive them for what they have done by being a member of, voting for, promoting and in so doing facilitating those party’s betrayals of my nation. As the man said, it’s not Russia or China we need to think of as Our prime concern…..our domestic politicians are the threat ! As for military cover, Europe can’t do it on its own…..even as a collective it comes nowhere even close to the United states. 1 US carrier battle group would do Europe in…..the US has 10 carrier battle groups ! The combined roll of all European armies is 1.4 million all in……the US is 2 million with 700,000 civilian personal added on and more state of the art kit than you can shake a stick at.

Forgive me if you are not old enough mate, but how many people do you remember burning Korans on the streets of Britain in 1985 ? I’ll tell and you probably know the answer, it’s none !…….it wasn’t a thing because random people didn’t feel that it needed to be a thing.
