I first got this book when it was first released and it was what got me into carp fishing, fell to bits over time so I have just picked up a signed copy reprint for £35 and I must say this book just don't get old. It's still as relevant today as when it first came out, in fact only now can you appreciate how far ahead of its time this book was. Cheers

Jobbing builders must be having a very hard time as every man and his dog is a builder so there's a lot of competition for work.....plus consumers always going for the cheapest job. It's a self fuelling thing all this undercutting, I bet not many solicitors are dropping prices!!

I don't think you need to cut corners at all, in fact quiet the opposite.....let the quality of your work and your service stand for itself, put a value on it and if people don't want to pay it then let them get someone else !! I take my hat off to any small firms who are directly employing men at the moment as I bet many of the bosses are going without a little bit themselves to keep blokes in work so fair play to them......I wouldn't do it !!

What a refereshing intelligent response from what I would consider the political "other side of the fence" Interesting to hear about the positive side to the num, one that I will admit I was not aware of -

Example, I work and deal with africans, indians, pakistanis, homosexuals.......all manner of people. I deal with them out of my own choice based solely on the fact of if I think we can get along and do business together, same as I would anyone else. Same old, same old from those with leftist thinking......start shouting about Nazis etc etc........it's the easy way out for leftys when they know ordinary folk have them bang to rights. It's the way they avoid having to answer the charge. Jesus, there are even laws now to stop people speaking their mind against an ideology that many didn't ask for and don't want. Britain has always been a very tolerant country but we did that out of our own choice not because we would get locked up if we wasn't!!!

I have close pals I call Nutters and plenty i know on here are complete nutters . think they're all nutters in their own right because of the nutty things they do somtimes but certainly not in the insane sense. as for the sanity of the breivik I think the court is out? Don't think many sane people can walk around indiscriminately murdering teenagers without showing any mercy! he has to have a screw loose somehwere. no doubt the guy is brainwashed but is this a form of insanity in itself? expecially when it drives somone on to do the things he did, normal folk wouldn't dream of it let alone

No mate, I don't think they are and I think a lot of this is down to the way our society has been massively reengineered over the past 50 years. We are forced to accept a lot more of that which, as a society, we formally found abhorrent.......
