    Just reading Chalkwarrens excellent book again and the last chapter "Mercedes" allways makes me smile.........for all his knowlege and the man obviously knows exactly what type of dog he needs, he knows what a properly trained dog should do, but for all that you can really feel the warmth come through when he writes of this out and out running dog.......a wild and free partner that seems so far removed from the perfectly trained herding type of dog.     Just read Mr Owens article, written for him by the various animal rights charities in the push for funding to pay for the Christmas piss up!     Fair one, I like the way you describe........all the right lads I have met would describe there dogs in a similar way, its allways the big mouth legends that have a world beater.     A genuine question for UNFIT, what is your opinion of your own dog/dogs...........the reason I ask is this, you can tell a bit about someone from there own honest opinion of there own dog. Avery good thread so far by the way.

    its a tough question. what is your genuine opinion wilf?? when are YOUR dogs proven(with out being smart)? tbh we all would love to be able to dig our terriers every week and get 60 digs a yr to each dog..but life's not like that. My honest awnser is, I have not had one and dont think I ever will..........lurcher or terrier, there is allways something more or better they could have done.

    Fair enough, we are all entitled to our opinion........thats an end to it as far as I am concerned. Should be one of the few interesting topics this one so we can both enjoy huh. And DEV, thats a very honest way of looking at it and an opinion that I think a lot of people could learn from.
