One for the road
Great White Hunter replied to Great White Hunter's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Bullsmilk its not the best thing to do but had no choice my hunting buddies where away i had no help the tree roots where as thick as my leg and the bank was full of large stones wasback at the hole next morning 8.00 with bars chain saw and help we had him out about 9.45 . Its not that unusual to leave a hole with the dog still in he may get out later that night himself and if you leave the terrier box beside the hole you would get him there in the morning . this dog was lost to ground for 4 days when he went to ground when i was out for a walk in july -

Few Pics of the hounds on sunday just missed the fox crossing the lane with the hounds close behind only ran one to ground after we lifted him from a bog about 3.30 and found the hounds marking strong at a hole 7.15 the fox never left a 2 mile area for the time he was hunted . Pity it was so dark we could not see most of it but it sounded great . Not great pics though

I do not think its a farmer either but some one from the animal rights looking to blow this up and get it on the news and make people think that anyone going over a field with dog or spade is commiting a crime and then call the cops . the story in the paper sounds to well put together and the use of the words barbaric ,cruel ,discusting is used alot . dont know many farmers round hear that talk like that

Just got permission on a waste recycling yard lot of big rats i do not usually hunt that many but use them to sharpen the terriers in the summer . But had to ask for permission as there were that many about in the day time and they where quite big . What i would want to know would it be better to go in during the day or lamp them at night . I have a petrol smoker but do not really want to use it around bales of paper and plastic . What do you think ?? Thanks
