    same here kenny the darker the night the more i see out and further from cover ..i do the same route looking for fox a good few nights a week in most weathers and all moon phazes and the same area for more than 20 years and this is in a very quiet area ..very few walkers even in summer ..i was out the monday before last for instance it was black as caps sence of humour..lol and counted one single doe ( mate had shot her kid )...a doe with 2 kids and another with 1 kid all in about a 600 yard area there regulars but not for long..lol..and when i take them out im lucky enough that its repopulate

    They seem to be well on in Dumfries and surrounding areas Billy or they are on my patches. and would agree with you as I see your location is Scottish Borders you cant be that far away from my areas. Word of advice Billy ,watch your high seats as they go missing when involved with this crowd. i never use them on my patch mate ..lol...im a walker or a layer dooner in the heather ..lol

    iv got to agree with cap here if i wanted one for my personal freezer it would have to be the kid but if some roe needed culling it would be the doe and sit back and wait as long as it takes or even return in the evening or following morning ..mind the extra drawers tho it can take longer than the half hour ...lol..

    oh about 3 weeks later i was working on the same stairwell and herd footsteps go [bANNED TEXT] past me with no explaination ...feck !!!!

    i used to work with ancient monuments dept workin in auld castles and there was this custodien used to tell us hed herd footsteps going by him on the stair well if he was working there in the mornings so i put on an old feckin duffle coat with the hood up and one of them old guy rubber masks wi the grey hair hangin down and hid in an alcove along this passageway and got my workmates to tell him the nobheeds had been in and graffitied the walls so up he donners to inspect the artwork and i jumped out infront of him ...he froze the the spot and couldnt run for slipping in his own shit i thought

    nice one mate ..i got a nice 6 pointer on monday and have been watching a 8 pointer too, we seen him on teusday in the distance and waited about but never seen him again till yesterday morning where upon he run out of the wood [bANNED TEXT] past me and run across the hill without stopping ..lol..well not till he was about 800 yds away..he never had a clue i was there and the wind was bang on its just a thing they do it can be quite frustrating..lol..but it puts ya heart rate up, iv still not herd a whistle as yet but that'll have to do with the warm weather roll on a good frost...good luck wit

    i was there the year a saluki broke its leg and one got lost ..auld anastsia run a ten year old deerhound and it run better than most i seen im almost sure sagar won with his saluki that year ..dont ask the year i canny mind..lol

    what kind of prices your roe and sika are fetching up and down the country im just looking for what your game dealers are giving, roe near me are getting 2 sqiud a kilo sika 1.75...rabbit (paunched) 50p.. pidgeon 35p and hares a joke at 3 squid a 3 kilo hare guts in ..sorry me squid keys no working ..mind its just gamedealer prices not the local resturaunts or butchers...
