  1. The book i got before i got mine was FERRETING WITH SIMON WHITEHEAD. I think its good, covers everything with the ferret finders and that to. billy

  3. Ive had mine for 2 year and never had a problem and its had hundreds of catridges through it. Just keep it well cleaned and oiled it will be fine. billy

  6. My ferts were the same ( jill and hob) when a first got them but now there best of palls and as for hissing the also do that when they play so shes maybe just excited. They will soon sort out themselves out to whos the boss and that. As for them nipping it sounds daft but i put my knuckle in the there mouth, not to hard but just enough for them not to like it, now i can waggle my finger in there mouth and they just lick it lol. Am just new to ferrets but am sure rhey will be ok. billy
  7. Im looking for a decent lockback for cleaning rabbits in that, does anybody have any good recomendations thanks. billy

  10. Yesterday was my first ever ferreting outing, with my to kits, on my new permission. Parked the navara up at the farm around 6:30 and started my walk around the hill to where i was going to start and that was when i found my first mistake, Far to much stuff. I took all my ferreting gear plus my jill and hob and a thought a would take a flask of tea, bottle of juice, water for the ferrets and a peace box with rolls and crisps and had to trek about half mile up and down a hill with this. Fare to say a was knakered lol. As a was walking around the side of the hill a had to dodge a heard of cow

WELL, just got of phone to the farmer and thats my first ferreting outing sorted for tomorrow cant wait, getting all my stuff ready the now and proberly check and double check as the day goes on. Im not going expecting to bag hundreds of rabbits, just going out to enjoy my first time out with my ferrets. Hopfully get some good pics ATB BILLY
  12. Sorry to here about your ferret mate, It all sounds a bit dodgy to me. How could the dog even see the ferrits over a six foot fence to know they were there. If it was me a would be investigating it a wee bit more. billy

  16. As title says after my work i had a look around my new permission. Because its a huge hill (old valcano) a just stayed to the lower parts, man it was some walk. As a was walking around there was loads of cows and am alwyas a bit weery of them but they didnt bother about me. There were 4 or 5 nice warrens a seen that were only between 5 and 9 holes and a few bigger ones more than ten holes which i will leave just now till ferrets get more experiance on the smaller ones. In the last field i was walking around trust there to be a big white bull but he didnt bother and just kept grazing. Heres a
  17. Good going mate , am finding mine quite simple to use aswel. Mines were born the same time as yours and am taking mine out this weekend hopfully, not expecting rabbits, just going to a few small burrys to get them used to it. Hows yours getting on with waring the collars. atb billy

  19. When u buy the magnetic collars u get a magnetic key with them to switch it on and of, so u can still use with old locator. billy
  20. Thats with one collar, i got 2 collars with mine for £199including p&p and a free paacket of batts . Ive not had a problem getting them out holes yet because theve not been in any, am sure a will find out next weekend.

  22. Has anybody got any recommendations on game bags to fit all the ferreting stuff in, because am just finding out that theres a good few bits and bobs.
  23. Well got my mk3m today, it seems pretty simple to use. Got a lay up under my 2 seater in the living room, was only down 2foot so was an easy dig lol. Just had the collars on the ferrets, a bit of a struggle to get it on there necks but after a roll about for 5mins trying to shake it of they were fine and started playing about, suppose a will just have to repeat every night. has anyone got any tips on getting them used to it or does it just take time.THANKS atb billy
