  1. The car VGreyhound thread reminded me of this fella - the great Scurlogue Champ- I was involved in the Greyhound scene at the time, and had the priveledge to see him race twice, Allways last out of the traps, and looking like a lost cause on the first and second bends, he always seemed to dig deep at the end and blow the opposition away on the last straight. Can't help thinking, he could have sired some crackin Lurchers. For those who have seen him, have another look. For those who haven't - check him out and be amazed. Listen to the cheers on the 1st clip as he makes his move.
  2. F F S Sooty, 21 posts and your starting a witch hunt. Just simmer down son.
  3. I think you would have to be careful here, a lot of shit Bedlingtons and Borders around.
  4. A little cracker, I could find a lot of work for a dog like that.
  5. Sure thing Byron, he'll never get to them all, and he's like a bulldozer at an earth. But as I said, he sees his fair share, and he bosses them when he does. Shame about the size really, If I let him go to every one we come accross, its a matter of time before he digs himself too far on and don't come back out.
  6. Just for you Byron http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...699&st=1080 He is a big lad - not 18" though , see's his fair share.
  7. I met a bloke last Sunday at the F&MWTC show in Bedlington (ironically) and he approached me and asked me how much would I take as a stud fee to put my Beddy dog over his BorderxBedlington Bitch. I didn't want to make money out of the fella , so agreed a small fee, any way, He lived nearby, and drove home to get the bitch (he said she had broken down) But she wouldnt stand for the dog, and he wasn't overly interested anyway. She was around 13.5" tts with harsh blue Bedlingtonish coat. Shame really, as the cross back to Bedlington could have thrown some nice pups. The fella told me h
  8. well i had the sister to sj [tango/rusty /glass] and i know my bitch had not a weather coat! and it never seemed to bothered her Chuffed to bits for you Byron mate, Where do you live, by the way? Tenerife??
  9. Get real Byron, Ok so the coat has no bearing on the dogs temperent or ability to hunt. ............BUT, if you were to ask me would I like to spend a day out in the rain, hail, sleet wind etc with a dog with a cotton wool coat, NO THANKS. Byron, my dog is "fired up" and has a great coat - best of both worlds really.
  10. I'm still thawing out. Got beat again in the Bedlington class by the bloke who apperently wins it every feckin year. And his Beddy was an obvious non worker.
  11. A bit of a dichotomy for me this one SJ. But in the main, have to agree with the points you raise. What I'm about to spit out may seem a bit rich coming from someone with a Bedlington over 17" tall , but I do feel that size is not much of a forethought these days when people get together and try to breed so called "working Bedlingtons" Sadly, this is because the very same breeders are (perhaps unwittingly) contributing to the re classifying of the Working type Bedlington as a "Bushing dog" - (I hate that term). The coats on some of this new breed of semi psuedo WORKING Bedlingtons are in

  13. The mghty Wolves came to Preston the other week - very ordinary team really, and an easy win in the end for North End.. Keogh is the only one I'd have. You'll never get far with Mad Mick at the helm.
