  1. Surely you mean Beddy Whippet cross? I think SJ was thinking of Bedlington x Greyhound lurchers
  2. SJ, Maybe there is a third option..... A Bedlington which is taller than the norm for an out and out earthdog, but who still has the minerals to tackle the ginger ones when the chance comes, above and below ground. Best of both worlds really, hopefully passing that pluck on to the lurcher progeny Especially, with amount of lurcher lads who want to hunt fox with their dogs.
  3. Just me and you so far Chrissie. If my missus reads this I'll be in the shit.

What have you got Karl lad? terriers or lurchers? Have you got any permission? I can bring my terrier over and knock a few out of the cover for you if you want.

I'm in Preston. Its my adopted town.
  9. An absolute rarity these, Bedlington pups bred from real working Bedlingtons. A handful of potential diamonds in a sea of mediocre "bushing" type Bedlingtons. I would have thought they would be knocking your door down SJ.
  10. I think he meant the Beddy Anthony.
  11. Still a few doing proper graft Dogman, But the vast majority are on light duties.
  12. There isn't a "Rambo" line of bedlingtons. Sure, he crops up in enough pedigrees, but the dog was not the product of carefull worker to worker breeding, and indeed all his litter mates never amounted to much. But with good careful handling and entering, the dog worked regularly below ground and above. To say he was a "KC simplifies it a bit too much, there are very different types of Bedlingtons out there, registered or otherwise.
  13. Here's mine. Good nose on him, decent little hunter, a bit too big for serious earth work, but he gets his chance now and then.
  14. Funny you should say that Daveo, I was looking through some old cw issues the other day and saw an advert for Bedlington pups sired by a dog called "Claude" .. the ad had a St Helens code on it.
  15. Ha, those Amish are sharper than they look.
  16. would you ever breed spike to another beddy dave? or just for lurchers? To the right bitch I would Kev, and if the progeny didn't work out , I'd leave it be. To many dog owners get kennel blind, and want to let their (sometimes untried or unsuitable) dogs add to the genepool, this is done sometimes to boost their own ego, but adds little of a positive nature to the true working Bedlington. In answer to your question, I would say my dog had every chance of turning out some handy lurchers. - All I need is someone with a greyhound.
  17. My view is that you should at least get them in front of a fox - the results can be surprising. As for rats and rabbits, it's all good fun, but any dog can do that.
  18. A little cracker Burnzy. Have a look on here http://www.workingbedlington.co.uk/index.php for more of the same.
  19. He's not a Beddy Whippet mate, He's a Bedlington terrier.
  20. How about this for cutlery Labsnlurchers .... 17 1/2 "Bedlington canines over an inch long.
  21. Scottishlass, I am an eternal optimist - to the point of being stupid. I've had some terrible lows in my life, But you know what? things always get better, and you never know whats around the next corner. Keep yer chins up hun. I'm sure it will sort itself out.
  22. A couple of potential foxing Bedlingtons there SJ - and there ain't many of them about. But are they "purebred"??
