  1. Mat John Holden hasn't worked a terrier in years, so the point of using one of his dogs would be what? Nice pic of the Beddy ragging Brock with a bullet hole between his eyes.
  2. We have Badger setts here to Mat. It's illegal to work Badger with dogs over here. But if you are doing it with those show bred fluffy Bedlingtons, fair play to you. But I'm not so sure.
  3. Very good Mat, Your Bedlingtons seem to shed the muck and slime of being underground far better than mine.
  4. Don't ever let her period stop you. Remember the old saying ....If you're snookered on the pink... ....Go for the brown.
  5. But he is 1000 times better and more likely to win a grand slam that Tim Henman.
  6. Hope the little fella finds a worthy home. He could be very handy in the right hands. Dawn B - Do you have a proven track record in breeding working dogs?
  7. These are the property of Stuart Staley from Stoke.
  8. No denying it, Tom looks a cracker. But has he ever caught 23 rabbits in 4 hours?.........................
  9. 23 rabbits in in 4 hours, with two terriers? If that is true, then my friend, you are probably right, you HAVE the best bushing terriers in Britain....make that the World.
  10. All this bushing talk intrigues me, a relatively new term I think. I can't remember lads 20 years ago talking proudly of their bushing terriers. Bushing used to be something that was done in the summer months, for a bit of fun, and to keep the dogs occupied and fit. Now some lads are specialist bushers and talk about their bushing prowess without a hint of embarrassment or even irony. Most types of dogs can be trained to hunt through cover, I've seen Heinz 57 mongrels who could give a field trial Spaniel a run for it's money. The working Bedlington is (in my view) on the verge of ruinat
  11. mild turkey curry, fancied something 'otter.... Mint!
  12. Whats up SJ, Turkey finished already?
  13. When Lakelands are being advertised as "parents won this show or that" and nothing about how the parents or previous generations work. I think most people will give them a miss.
  14. £150 in 1986, I would say £500 in todays money, an awful lot for a Bedlington Terrier. SJ's question stems from a similar post raging on the working Bedlington forum. It'll be interesting to see the pattern of responses now its been thrown open to a wider audience. ps If you know where to look, you can get a good Bedlington pup from working parents for not much more than the same £150.
  15. A mate of mine got a couple of dogs from the man 25 years ago, typey good looking Black and tans, turned into great workers. I remember going down with him to pick them up, was it Egremont or Lamplugh way? Cyril was a nice fella and gave us youngsters plenty of encouragement at the time.
  16. Spot on, my kind of lurcher.
  17. Lawrence & Keith, do you have an active life ahead planned for your new Beddy pups? Best of luck with them anyway lads.

Just got in, been sniffin around up the Ribble - from the bullnose at the docks, right up past the landfill and well on the way to Lytham. Plenty of bunnies in and out of the cover, and the Beddy knocked a really manky looking fox (mange) out of the reeds by the river, but he dissapeared into thin air.
  19. Most are bred from Whippet mothers Ian.
