    Actually there are working bred Airedales in this country: brought from the USA. If you read my post you'll see that I waited until I could get a working bred Dale before I got one. I will rephrase, airdales in this country will PROBABLY be at least one generation away if not more from work tested stock!

    Airdale has nothing to bring to uk lurchers that is not already available, any pure airdales in this country will be generations away from work tested stock. Airdale over a failed grey = another litter of culls advertised on the free ads network.

    It's to do with the grazing and good feed matey. Take a southern red to scotland and within a generation or two there will be no discernable difference. Sure there is wapiti blood in SOME southern reds, but only those in certain areas i am lead to believe. I read something similar in a book and tend to take what I read with a pinch of salt

    English red deer are suposidly bigger than scottish red deer, why? Because English red deer were/are suposidly crossed with Elk(wapiti) to give bigger size, which would make them hybrids? which creates the question, are we talking about a single dog pulling a red/elk hybrid or a red deer?

    My opinion for what its worth on here Out of the 6 species a dog is capable of taking 5 of them single on a regular basis FACT. A mature red stag in its prime taken by a dog single is not impossible with the aid of accidents,injury, sickness, fences, ditchs etc etc but WILL NOT be a regular occurance IMO. Two dogs at the top of there game are capable of and WILL take red stags.
