  1. Hello all As above; dog started lying down, almost "lame" took to vet - dislocated(hind) knee. Course of antibiotics & restricted exercise for 3 weeks (which has been a tw@t so far). Just wondered has anyone had a dog with a similar injury? It's been 2 weeks now & I'm starting to extend his work to 2 or 3 half hour walks - all on lead - he's showing no signs of the lameness he was ie lying down sporadically; but as he stretched out before I checked the joint & it clicked but didn't pop. So, after the essay, would you think this was normal? At least it stayed in the joint
  2. I have a Longbow & it's a great rifle, never shot a 77 though.
  3. Signed. (already) Best of luck to you all in Scotland. Could set a massive precedent.
  4. My Webley Longbow likes AA Fields; seem quite hard hitting.
  5. Have heard good things about the gun power ranger................... I think they're a bit of a marmite thing tbh. I have never shot one, but they seem to divide opinion like no other line I can think of.
  6. yes .................if you throw the gun at the rabbit ive used one bofore just for birds wasnt to bad it seems 2 have the power the last one i came across we chronographed it at 7 ft lbs .....like i said throw the smk2 at the rabbit you'll have more chance of killing it ....... i'm not taking the piss with that chronograph reading it's true ..... out of fair play to the rabbit the only thing them cheap chinky air guns are good for is school boy target practice ..... i say that coz after shooting with such a poor gun when school boy/girl gets hold of summat worth having the
  7. Agree - they're great The TX200SR is a nice gun - very heavy though. The Prosport is generally thought to be the best out the box though.
  8. Hello mate, :welcomeani:
  9. I think you would have one hell of a gun mate PM me if you want his number/contact details. atb
  10. Well Rabbiteer I got it back today. Got the scope on & put a few pellets through in the garden; first impressions are excellent . It's nice & smooth with (for what there is) a very consistent recoil - straight backwards. No twanginess - just a nice quiet "thunk" when shot. My mate had a go, so I got to hear it myself - [/b]very quiet for a springer. Mate was seriously impressed, so I know it's not just me wanting it to be good. Set at 11.77 ft/lbs with AA fields - which I use. Accuracy - not properly zeroed yet but I was shooting twigs out in front of my backstop at around 15
  11. We were just mooching about really, so he didn't realise I was over there.
  12. He's fine mate, a strong little thing. As soon as I freed him he was off bushing again. The field was just off a farm track, not a public footpath so no probs with where he'd put them :thumbs-up: Somewhere I shouldn't be? How very dare you
  13. What Mods are you having done to it?
  14. your dog was caught in a fox wire , set on a kill pole , although the snare was free running , the fox wraps itself around the pole and expires quite quickly, your dog could have done the same if you hadn,t been with it , although some dogs have the sense to sit down and wait , this method is used i north america to kill snared coyotes . Thanks snareman, a good thing I was there I only though rabbit snare as it's an arable farm. I don't think the dog was planning on sitting & waiting. Would the dead hare in the field be a lure, or just coincidental? (I had also found a couple of shott
  15. I have a Webley Longbow (with a SWAT Compact 3-12x44), which is currently away with Steve Pope for him to do his stuff . Heard from him today & I'll have it back on Wednesday ; can't wait
  16. Thanks Ditch. I think it was a rabbit snare, it just seemed on the big side. The dog was in front of me & it seemed to "flip"him. There were 2, set on either side of flattened long grass serving as a track into the field; hidden in plain sight. As you say it loosened off easily enough when I got to him & got him to keep still. From their location I expect it was the farmer who'd set them. I saw him in the vicinity a day or two earlier & they weren't there before that. If not it's a worry as he's always off in the fields & bushing about, out of sight for minutes at a time.
  17. I may have a grey cull coming up soon. I would think that the landowners may well be interested in this. A few details to be sorted out yet, but will let you know. Cheers
  18. Hi Was hoping for a little help . Without going into details, my terrier was caught, around the neck, in a snare. It was basically a loop of wire which tightened in a noose-like fashion as he moved away from the vertical pole it was attached to. Got him out ok, no harm done. Not knowing anything about snares, I was interested to know what such a snare is called? Thanks in advance

  23. Piriton's fine mate; my dog's face came up like a shit boxer a while ago. Got a shot off the emergency vet (was late at night) & a course of Piriton. Sorted him right out. Can't remember the dosage but I think half a tab would be ok. HTH
