horris Did I see you a few Sundays ago in L31? I had a small black dog which your Harris didn't like? Sorry to hijack chaps but I have been fascinated since I saw that bird
  2. Look for landmarks in the field/land and pace them out from your sniping position(s) - obviouslywhen you aren't there shooting Are you okay with ranging in general? If not you can practice day to day - pick out a point & estimate the distance, then count the paces to that point. Not an exact science but can help with range estimation.
  3. And try to make sure the wind is not blowing your scent down to them.

More a historical semi-fiction type - Conn Iggulden's books are a great read. I never thought I'd like them at all, but I've read the lot in short order.
  5. i thought 300 bar was a bit exessive myself! think i'l start the bidding process then 300 bar is ok - my bottle is 300 bar, basically you dont need it. As said that will do the job Edit to say - bottle is 300 - fill S400k to 180/190 from 300 bar bottle
  6. I use Napier VP90 spray; wipe it down (stock & blueing) before & after taking it out. Also, when you get home take the rifle out the case for an hour or so to let it "acclimatise"
  7. I know mate . Could see one out of my bedroom window too. Anyway, going to get some letters sent out and see what happens; you never know
  8. 12 months Christ, that's flown. Not too bad here, except losing a couple of permissions

  10. Mine was a grey squirrel, shot with a .22 springer. I was quite pleased about it at the time
  11. I had never seen one until 10 days ago; it was sat next to a "normal" on a roundabout on a main A road near to me (big, grassy island with trees & bushes) ive seen a few positivley ginger rabbits around here and a couple of melanistic squirrels but other than that nothing out of the ordinary. Not seen a black squirrel yet; plenty of greys though......

  13. Strange at first with a PCP isn't it? Whether it's your first kill or first with the rifle they're both memorable - well done
  14. IIRC BTAS aren't doing AA conversions anymore? I could be wrong though....
  15. No worries - glad to help out. The boiled water trick has never failed for me yet - the last time i used it was when i took my original AA mod apart to look at the specs, which in turn is what made me want to buy the weirarch mod. The AA mod is now back together and acting as a spare if i should need it. Regards, Grim. Using a hairdryer is another option
  16. Have a look around first; (You hear it all the time but I think it is still relevant) You will see which routes they travel. You will also get to know the noise of a squirell taking nuts from a tree very quickly How big is the site? Has it been shot before? They are shootable on the ground, but you need to be sat, or approach quietly. (Sean is right "keen eye & quiet foot") Squzzers are a challenge to hunt; if you have a "partner" it can help greatly as they will run up the tree on the side you can't see; with two you can try to engineer it. (If you need to bait ge
  17. Looks a nice spot mate; but the ricochets in that barn could be a nightmare
  18. This about covers I would say. I have heard the Weirauch silencers are excellent
  19. Yeah, one of them's a bit odd I think & fella I used to see now works in Morrisons in Ormskirk, need to pay them a visit next week myself. Edit - see as in be served by, not "see"
  20. Did I? Was that when I had the spare box going? It is good though
  21. Don't know much about them tbh; are you looking for a dedicated NV scope & therefore rifle, or a monocular & add on?
  22. Well done mate That top rabbit looks a bit "square" in the chest in those photos
