  1. Too bad It's very unfortunate when people make rules about things they don't have a clue about Looking forward to it!! Will be very interesting to see how these little ones turn out
  2. There is a massive difference between looks and working abilitys with working strains! If not for a hand full of people this breed would of been long gone years ago! Working strains have plenty of fire and keen noses. Some strains look like baby lambs and probably as useless as one! Thats my understanding anyway! Thanks Fazza! Just trying to understand what makes the Beddy different (if anything)? The definitely have more of a "racey" look than the other terriers and I see some shots on here with beddy's as ferreting dogs. All being equal (which is uss not the case) would a beddy b
  3. YES ....and no, as I think a lurcher would have a hard time catching a grouse or a duck....or a moose Best of both worlds really...
  4. Nice pics, such a different look to the other terriers. What advantage would a beddy have over the more common types? Why spend so much effort looking for a worker of this breed? :search:
  5. Haven't been able to get through the 121 pages....but did make a dent! Excellent pictures! The working beddy looks so different to the show types. What chest size would a digging beddy measure? Would they be 14" or under around the chest?? My understanding is our earths are a bit tighter than in Europe so this is always a big consideration or the dog will always be getting stuck.
  6. Good work and excellent set of pictures! That 10 footer certainly looks would warm a man up. How did the raccoondogs take being cornered.....much fight or just a bunch of noise?
  7. I know....that was a just an unfair shot Trying to keep some humour in the discussion
  8. No personal experience here, but I understand that teckels (i.e. working dachshunds) are supposed to have very good noses and from the right lines can be worked underground.
  9. Very nice Would love to see how they turn out. How many are you keeping? The colour is interesting...and very consistent! ...only one odd colour in the bunch. ....but I have to ask, what's wrong with your dog's ears

  11. I don't think this is typical of the breed...in fact I think the opposite is typical. Mals are definitely one of the most athletic breeds: Ring Sport Mal mate totally agree if you search about a month back i put a very lengthy post on some one asking how good malinios were as a breed they are way above the gsd but the prob put me off. Read my post i put then your'l understand just how much i know about the breed. My mate owns two. Great dogs to. He was the one that breed them Missed that one....good to know you have knowledge of the breed. Def not for everyone and there is some v
  12. Got any pics? Would love too see some of this X
  13. Would love to see some pics if you've got them

  15. Nice looking dog. Looks to have a tight coat too. At least the dog is wearing matching socks! ....and white on the tail tip and muzzle too
  16. I agree! The antis must have brain-washed a bunch of you over there .....this is what we do and are not ashamed of it! Put the link back up CH....you've explained yourself enough
  17. Nice looking bitch there Not big and lanky like some GSD....nice and compact. Hope he work out for you.
  18. Nice looking pup! Took a lot of looks from his mum! Do you plan to use him as a daytime dog or on the lamp (or both)?
  19. Other way around mate: male (i.e. sperm) decides sex. Females have double X (XX) and male has X and Y (XY), so in meiosis when the cells are split the femal egg will always have an X and the sperm can either have an X or a Y. Great discussion all! Do you find that looks of the offspring change depending on which breed you use as male vs. female?? (Trigger touched on this but hoping for some more detail...or even pics!)
  20. Nice editing job and well put together video. That ground would be tough to break through at this time of year! Also great to see these dogs doing real terrier work over here I can't comment either way on the work as I don't have the experience to do so but I did enjoy the first part of the video best. BTW, I noticed Deben collars on the dogs, and I have read many who say they are not as accurate as say B&F or Borivox. Do you use them bc of their low profile and not getting caught up under ground?...or just your preference??
  21. I've read a few posts where people comment that a better dog will come from a 1/2 x if the Grey is the bitch, or GSD is the bitch, etc. I can see some circumstances where the choice of male and female should be obvious like a beddyxgrey Why do you choose a specific breed to mother the pups over another breed??? Or, should it not make a difference??
  22. Handy looking pup. Looks like he's wearing white socks
  23. Nice pup there pal! Glad to see the working beddy as the ones that I know of over here are worthless. Got any pics of the parents working??
  24. Cute pup SB! Looking forward to some pics as it gets bigger What a beaut JP! Got any more pics??
  25. Knowing GSD quite well I would imagine they may lack some speed and turning ability for rabbits?? Is this the case? Also, depending on the GSD line bred to, you may get MANY dogs running back to you after encountering something which bites back......the temperament of this breed is so varied between lines. Don't get me wrong, from the right lines these dogs can be monsters and hard as rocks, but you have to make sure the right lines are used. Would love to see more pics as this is definitely a potential cross for this side of the world.
