    My mate has a browning semi and he can get 3+1, illegal as it may be, he has a restriction cert from the proof house. John I had a Browning years ago and it was set for the number of cartridge amounts with a metal disc on a steel rod in the cartridge tube ie 2+1 for normal shotgun if you turned it to fac you could slide the disc further up the rod allowing to fit more shells and it was proofed and set at this, if you had a normal shotgun licence you moved the disc at your own peril and you became an illegal firearm holder.     Also remember when you put the FAC air rifle on your ticket it will always be an FAC air rifle you cant change it back to normal 12ft lb, it will forever be an FAC which don't attract such a high price second hand if you ever wanted to sell it, as I found out. I have just sold a mk2 Rapid 7 with 19 inch barrel, bought from Theoben as an FAC which was doing 38ft lb in .22 The factory one is regulated and I got 50 shots at near enough full power before it started to tail off, I could get 75 shots before the bottle vented itself, the last shots were around 15ft lb, but you had to start to all

    It's not just suggested violence that can loose you your guns, a few years ago a friend of a friend had his rifles confiscated 24 hours after being disqualified for drinking and driving, he said the reason was and I quote '' if he is not responsible to know not to drive when drunk, he is certainly not responsible to be in charge of guns''

    I have an open licence and it means I have a rim fire and .222 and I could shoot these two calibre rifles on any land I had permission and I took responsibility as to whether I decided it safe to shoot on the land. whether it was passed or not.( I think it would be your arse in the wringer if there was ever any problem though) I had my licence opened after 2 years which I asked for, and then sent a formal letter, at the time I belonged to a pest and vermin control club and we had probably upwards of 75 farms to choose from, this gave a good reason I agree, for me to give them to have it open

    A bit of advice please, I am about to send in a variation on my OPEN TICKET for a rim fire, I used to have rimfire, centrefire and FAC air rifle but sold them all because of my accident, When I had the guns my ticket was for shooting over land AND I belonged to a rifle range,now I only have the land athaurity I don't belong to any rifle ranges. My question is how many on here with an FAC have them granted on land only, without belonging to any clubs or rifle ranges, thanks very much

    I had a .22 rapid mark 2 which I had at 38ft/lb and it loved bisley magnums and barracuda match, don't understand why you would have an FAC on your ticket then only have it at 19ft/lb why don't you ramp it up a bit. The only thing that shocked and surprised me was when wanted to get rid of it, I thought I could get it de regulated and use it as a normal air gun, how wrong was I , once you have an FAC airgun its always an FAC and even though with the Theoben you can get a new valve kit you cant de reg it hence I lost a fortune as second hand FAC arn't worth as much as a standard gun of the s

    hello all I am new to the site although I have looked in for a while. my name is Steve I've been hunting in all its formats for over 30 years. I still have an open ticket FAC and shotgun licence, which both had a pretty good selection of calibre rifles and shotguns. I had the discovery, 3 springers, and ferrets and was game shooting, lamping foxes and the start of deer stalking.
