  4. Yeah, all I want to see is the compass screen & a directional arrow pointing the way to the dog & to let me know how far away & the Dogtrace does that superbly..were I advising anyone to buy a tracking collar I'd advise them to buy the Dogtrace,it does what needs doing & does it well,no bells no whistles but it's the lightest collar & like you say the best for any size of dog..cheers for the input matey.
  5. Top job bud,I think the old Astro's are the best of the lot myself.
  6. Which version of the Garmin do you use Daniel? I've got the old Astro 220's the Alpha 100 & the Alpha 200i,being honest when up in the mountains the newest I own the Alpha 200i can very often lose 'track' of the dog,I do like it though for the built-in In Reach facility, for about £12 a month subscription it's worth paying in my opinion as where I go I can almost guarantee mobile phone's will not work so having the In Reach in the 200i to send messages & or worst case scenario hitting the SOS button should something go wrong & get the mountain rescue on their way is something I find
  7. Who uses them then? Which make & model? If you've tried several why did you stick to a certain one (if you did?) & or discard a certain one? What's the pro's & con's to a certain make/model? As you can see I've a few myself.

Yeah I visit Culloden Moor everytime I'm up in the Inverness area Jok,like you say it's a very sombre heart wrenching place to visit, the quietness of the place is quite surreal to be honest, not something I've experienced anywhere else to be truthful. I love Scotland, spend lots of time up there in our old motorhome & campervan too, heading to the Isle of Mull in the very near future, just trying to dodge the dreaded midge from now until September haha, there's a fantastic place over on the east coast we love to visit called Elie,,amazing place, dolphins on view daily, great walks on the Fife Co

  17. Hey up Ray,so sorry to hear that you lost your wife quite recently bud. I feel your pain literally regarding your recent mishap,I have mobility issues with my knees, hips, ankles & more so my back, some days are better than other's here, none are pain free,I think as we age pain is just part of daily life mate. Hope the knee improves with time & your able to get out & about without the knee brace. Like yourself I've said no more dog's for me once these lot have gone,I always said from a young age if I couldn't give a dog the work it needs to make the grade I wouldn't have one & tha
