  1. Dad & Daughter on a cold & frosty morning..
  2. Boots & Fife as youngsters out on the mountains here in the Lake District, this was them enroute to the summit of Hopegill Head..like a pair of mountain goats
  3. Boots & Ruby were my A-Team for many years,we had some amazing hunting forays both here on the mainland & a ferry trip away to faraway shores. We had a lot of fun along the way,I sure do miss our adventures. Sadly nothing lasts forever.
  4. The dog was called Nero,he killed a lot of hares over the year's plus other stuff too,I've seen the dog kill hares after 3 minute plus which is no mean feat for any dog,ran mostly on an airfield with runway's & big patches of gorse dotted about so they weren't easy hares..in fields he was better still, big fields but not fenland. The dog killed 3 hares of a morning many many times Chaff. He wouldn't of cut it on fenland but elsewhere I guarantee he wouldn't of disgraced himself, great little dog he was. Sadly he's long since gone but the lads who ran him regularly will have a hell of a lot o
  5. Still makes me laugh when people say Salukis are not to be trusted with livestock, learn them young & you won't ever have an issue..all this if it takes bigger stuff it's bound to go for sheep bollox is exactly that..
  6. Boots has actually been put into a 'Where's Wally' type book over in the USA ..bloody dog gets himself everywhere, the same company also have him in one of their calenders for 2024 too,I'm awaiting delivery from the US of this,be a laugh if nothing else, hopefully one of the grandchildren will enjoy finding Boots
  7. This was Bear after breaking his neck,I used a heated back massager on him to help with revival of damaged nerves he received from his accident,he didn't mind it at all,in fact he quite enjoyed it.
  8. Yeah he has a few litters on the ground matey
  9. Here's old Don right now D out on our second wander today,he only gets out twice daily nowadays but I may take him for a wander up the mountains on Xmas Day morning just for old times sake,he can still put a few miles in,he's just about totally blind & deaf now but a tracking collar on him & he should be fine..I'd bet my life if one of the other's flipped one over he'd soon be able to see ok haha
  10. She would get fired into anything honestly, she's been into fox, boar, red deer you name it, obviously after they had been shot though
  11. Mike Brown bred Whippet back in the day..seen this dog killing a good few,no kick ups either,100 yard's law given each & everytime. He was a seriously good dog.
  12. This is Rose as a pup, before she broke her leg & when she had teeth & a pretty unmarked face
  13. Ruby my Pom passed away back in August of 2021 at the age of 15 mate, best dog I've ever owned honestly..she was my shadow, companion & best friend for every day of those 15 year's,I still miss her every single day. I've had some smashing dog's over the year's but Ruby was just something else..the day I had to have her pts I wrapped her up in my padded shirt & drove to some of our hunting haunts,I drove some 45 miles to where we park up to go hunting the big beasts on the mountains & where she had accompanied me up there in excess of 100 times,as soon as I drove into the carpark she
  14. 5/8 Grey 3/8 Bull & she's done plenty of graft, those who know the bitch knows what she's done & capable of,she's 8 year's old now so her best day's are probably behind her but she doesn't know that, she was out just last night doing what she does.
  15. These are out of two different litters sired by Boots..
  16. He's got 3 litters on the ground mate,he mated a bitch this year which never took so I'm guessing his 'offspring' days may be over to be honest he's been dreadful with bitches, without sitting down & going through everything I'd say he's had 50 bitches to him & covered 3,that's how bad haha
  17. Cheers everyone, good to see some of my old lamping partner's are still kicking & breathing too,Dodger Tomo & Vin,all great lads who I have the up most respect for,top lads who I have had some great running with...here's Boots up on the NW Coast of Scotland on a wee trip away in the off season.
  18. Yeah that was Fife, sadly he got killed whilst just a young dog in a road accident,he was a beautiful looking dog he was,as youngsters he was miles ahead of Boots at all & everything.
  19. Roxy..she's a 5/8 Grey 3/8 Bull & is the dam to Bear & Rose
  20. Yeah I can recall the bull whippet you had quite vividly Paul, was a cracking wee dog for you she was,I can remember you taking the dogs out with the gun one day & out lamping the next. One thing's obvious mate & that is the dog's left you with a lifetime of memories,no one can take them away from you. Sometimes I wish I was 30 year's younger & some days I wish I wasn't even here because of fooking pain,I'm not sure if it's the dog's that keep me going or if it's them cnuts that have got me knackered like this, what I do know is that I can't give the dog's the work I once could. I'll
  21. Same story up here in Cumbria Daniel, every word you wrote there I can resonate with,a few rabbits appear locally each spring/summer & word spreads fast & every fecking idiot is out lamping them or ferreting them even shooting them, come winter there are no rabbits to be seen nor the summer hunters either. It's always been the same around here, loads of lurchers, whippets & terriers,I could count on one hand the people that do anything with them, the only ones that do have travel to work their dog's the rest of them you will bump into at the shows saying how there's nothing around them
  22. Bear at 10 month's old with his sire Boots.. without splitting hair's Boots is 5/8 Grey 3/8 Saluki & the dam of Bear a bitch we have here called Roxy is 5/8 Grey 3/8 Bull so Bear is like his sire in that he too is 5/8 Grey but with him being 3/16 Saluki 3/16 Bull compared to Boots just being 3/8 Saluki
  23. It was on the mountains matey,I'd say 400 yard's may even be understating it,the bitch done brilliant that morning, she reeled it in & dropped it & dealt with it appropriately. Obviously her quarry didn't take her serious enough when it seen it heading towards it,if it had about turned & high tailed it then it would of been long gone but it stood fixated watching & trying to make out was heading it's way by the time it decided to make a move Misty was homing in on it,bit of a fast moving frenzy entailed, twisting & turning in the heather but it was too late, the bitch had it.
  24. The dam of these pups is out of a 5/8 Grey x Razor a Saluki x Greyhound & without splitting hair's I'd say Razor too was 5/8 Grey 3/8 Saluki = no Collie whatsoever.. The sire of these pups is out of a 5/8 Grey 3/16 Sal 3/16 Bull bitch = no Collie which leaves the grandsire to these pups which again is out of Razor which we will say is 5/8 Grey 3/8 Saluki= no Collie, the great grandmother to these pups is where there is some Collie blood but again that comes from that bitches grandparents of which one was 1/8 Collie I know this to be true as I owned it along with the other dog which was 1/2
  25. You won't have no issues with them pup's like I said mate. That Felix is a proper good animal & old Misty ain't too far behind him either.
