  1. Early start for us today,we were out the door for 4am & done the drive & slog up the mountain for daybreak,it was a cold day on the high tops with a cold brisk wind with the mountain weather forecast stating that taking the wind chill into account temperatures were to be around -12C,we had light rain at times & at other times we had sleet. Unfortunately we didn't put anything to rest today, being honest we probably could have but I seen more than a handful of other's out enjoying the mountains today,I did see 3 big fine along with a handful of the opposite sex with them but they
  2. Living where I do where we get over 250 day's a year of rain I can well believe this, rabbits are & always have been thin on the ground in the area I live,if you don't or won't travel then you needn't have a running dog nor a ferret.
  3. Hey up bud, nice to hear from you. Good to see you still have the son & daughter of old Boots living the best of lives as always Brilliant to see mate. Doesn't surprise me hearing about Loki to be honest, that whole litter have been suicide runner's from day one from what I've heard from the owners of other's, plus my own two idiot's & what they've put both themselves & me through G..they just don't see danger at all in anything they do,they are totally oblivious to it or they are just plain fooking stupid hope life is treating you well down there bud,I've said it from the day I
  4. Great stuff Tomo, nice end to 2023 that. I haven't been out since Xmas day or not grafting the dog's anyways,I usually always get myself out as of New Year's Day morning but I'm out with a few of the ankle biters tomorrow with the gamekeeper so the running dog's will have to wait until later in the week before they get a leg stretch. Hope 2024 is kind to you buddy, have a good un Tomo.

  7. Yeah he's out of old Sparky bud,the dam to this pup is a fair animal too, very well tested so it's bred right enough..very intelligent little thing, doing everything as it should for it's age, been going in with livestock twice weekly since the day after it arrived & upto press doesn't give them a second glance, sits, lays down on command, she's already jumping small fences & she's been on scene when the old dog has knocked one over, every day is a school day when rearing a pup bud as you know.

  10. Boots this morning in what was biblical weather conditions out on the mountains with his protege,a young bitch which will be 5 month's old come January 3rd owned by my Mrs. Done touching 14 miles up there so was a very hard day especially with the heavy rain & winds gusting upto 50mph.
  11. Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a good one & all the very best for 2024. Times have changed a lot in the past 20 year's at least in the UK regarding running dog's,do what you can, when you can, with the dog's you have. Enjoy your dog's,enjoy your day's & night's out with them, coming from me this is probably hard to grasp to many on here but regardless of the end result of your hunting just be thankful that your out there giving your dog's the opportunity, not everyone is able to do so for various reasons. There probably isn't anyone alive nor dead come to that who was more tunn

  20. This was Rose back in Feb 2022 the day she snapped two bones in her leg clean in half, she's a tough little thing not a murmur out of her & in fact continued jumping fences & gates on the way home even like that..second pic is her in August 2022 so 6 month's later. The vet who done her operation had never done one but forwarded the x-rays of her broken leg to bone specialists throughout the country for advice on how best to repair Rose's leg. She did tell me that there was no guarantee as the smaller bone that runs behind the big one was snapped about an inch from the end & was unsu
