  1. Don't cat collars have elastic in them? I'm screwed if I'm going to make a habit out of digging transmitters out with ferrets safe in the box...
  2. How do you twist the transmitters open without removing the collar?
  3. The leather collars for my locator have swollen up with the damp from working, they are now a bugger to fit back through the transmitters. I see Deben do replacement nylon ones but has anybody had any success with other sources?
  4. Galvanised mesh can get a white coating on it due to oxidisation, I've heard that it is best to allow this to happen before introducing ferrets to a run/court as it can be a poisonous process but mine have had no bother with the mesh on mine.

Do a lot of shooting with both shotguns and air rifle, predominantly pest control but a little rough shooting when the opportunity arises. Do as much beating as the other half allows me (can only do Saturdays due to work commitments) during the pheasant season. Just about to start working my two hobs (from last years litter) and my jill (worked before I got her but has had 2 years off afte
  6. What's the ideal length for a netting needle? I know a lot will be down to personal preference, and also that a longer needle means you can load more twine on without it becoming bulky but I'm not 100% sure what to get hold of. Any experienced net makers have an opinion on the subject?
  7. Problem with a dog crate (the fully folding ones) is that the bars are either big eonough for them to escape, or just not quite big enough in which case you may get a trapped fert. I've got a small hutch that I keep as a holiday home. It's not something that the three of mine can live in comfortably for more than a week but it suffices for "kennels" at a friend or relative's come holiday time.
