  1. I've been on a lot of forums where there is a "don't question the price" policy with sales. In order to be fair and equitable they warn everyone, even if something is blatantly overpriced.
  2. Some good guys, less pikeys and poachers too. Full of proper countrymen who don't brag about breaking the law and ruining other people's sport for all to see. Of course the verified section actually has a lot more traffic, but access is only gained to that once you've made some decent posts and they've got the measure of you.
  3. Using logic; it's been said that if the mating is successful then vulva will return to normal in two weeks, if it hasn't gone down in two weeks then it wasn't successful.
  4. Jill we're breeding off this year is like that. It's always nice to see a 'wildlife expert' gets excited about something he's never seen before. I see a few each year, just goes to show that sitting still in a field is far better than rushing around with a camera crew.
  5. It annoys me when people sell their workers and then buy more for next season. If you've got a good worker then you'd want to hang on to it so I imagine there's a lot of dead weight there...
  6. Tons of information if you look back through the board, try a forum search.
  7. Make sure she's properly in season, it's still early days yet. If she's not ready then she won't even think about giving in easy.
  8. I fold in half, then in half again. I then twist the net really tight so it goes like a thick cord and fold that in half before wrapping the cord round again. That way it keeps the net really neat and there aren't any straggling bits to snag on a pocket zip or other pegs.
  9. Bet he does, cos he loses them...
  10. Easy way to tell is the hob's only got one hole in it's back end Marvin, your first post didn't say it's to keep it company, you said the hutch comes with a Jill. Nice back pedal though.
  11. Funny that, I keep my ferrets through the summer rather than ditching them when the season stops. I breed when I want to increase numbers, not just for the sake of it.
  12. Let me get this right, you are getting rid of ferrets so you can breed more? Why breed if you don't need to increase stock? I'd suspect that the ones you are getting rid of aren't up to much as workers, either that or you are just an idiot.
  13. Just get a 6mm wide nylon pet collar, whack some extra holes in it with a hot nail and cut it to size with a hot knife. It's what I've done with both of mine because they are easier to get in and out of the unit, I've also made one extra small for my jills.
  14. Dry food mostly, supplemented by minced rabbit, pigeon, offal, and rabbit in fur.
  15. Pick out every day, full clean once a week, strip court out once a month.
  16. Or rabbits are home and tucked up well?
  17. Excellent that a youngun is coming good, do as was said above so they get used to being picked up and put down again. It's always good to leave them to work though, mine will 'show and go' if they are still working, if there's nothing home they come right out. Mods, is there any chance of a dedicated section for ferreting reports?
  18. It is the occupier that has an obligation to control rabbits, so the occupier (tenant) can grant permission.
  19. This cold weather should knock them back a bit...
  20. That's what I do, swap them in morning, evening and night. It also means you can put extra bottles out in summer to prevent competition.
  21. I've edited my post to say on your fingers, try him with a spoon first though. Back of your hand is also a good place as he won't be able to grip properly.
  22. Time and patience. Try to get him licking you by putting cod liver oil or ferretone on your fingers. You could always try playing rough, roll him over and tickle his belly. If he's already bitten you then you know it hurts, but that's as bad as it gets. Handle him with confidence but be gentle too, never make a grab if you can help it - always try and stroke first.
