  1. Tartar we are always willing to look at contributing sponsorship of some kind to charity events. Best of luck with the show.
  2. Applications for qualifiers coming in thick and fast. Can organisers note that it is their responsibility to email us results of qualifiers within one week of the show taking place. Photographs too would be useful( especially if Margaret Mc Stay is not present) - I can't promise but they will be considered for publication in the magazine.

  4. Sorry won't make it today - normally a great show in a very pleasant venue with lots of good prizes.
  5. Some FACTS about Terriers , Lurchers & Whippets and their locations in our shows for those unfortunate people with a chip on their shoulder who appear to see something discriminatory in everything : BIRR CASTLE 1. The location of the terriers & lurchers at Birr was chosen in consultation with our event organisers in order to have : (a)As long and flat a racing course as possible ( Ringside parking for show and racing and the CLOSEST parking to the main site. 2. At Birr the terriers and lurchers are situated in the same area as our clay pigeon shooting and are closer to
  6. Danny, As you are aware our team ( not just me) have worked very hard to give terrier, lurcher and whippet owners and organisers of qualifying shows the best prize fund and competitions in Ireland and at least equivalent to the other sporting events we run at the fairs. Most of the prize fund has been put up out of the pockets of our team and to be blunt most of the team have pointed out that disputes within the other sports are settled on the ground with the minimum of fuss and little or no bitching on social media. In short they ask why invest fairly huge sums of money to be insulted!

The GREAT GAME FAIRS of IRELAND Master McGrath Challenge for ELITE lurchers ( both Over and Under 23”) will have qualifiers throughout the UK and Ireland for a FINAL at Shanes Castle on Saturday 24th June. 11. TWO IRISH CANINE LEGENDS to be honoured by the Great Game Fairs of Ireland in 2017. The GGF of Ireland team have built up an enviable reputation for promoting both human and animal history. We have been running a Master McGrath tribute championship for elite lurchers for several years ( at Shanes) and in 2017 this will be joined by a Mick the Miller Championship ( at Birr) for non elite lurchers. As we have explained before the connection of Shanes with Master McGrath is through my co founder Major William Brownlow's ancestor being the owner of the great dog and Mick the Miller was o
  12. The Great Game Fairs of Ireland have been featured on NVTV. This is the Belfast Community TV station and as it goes to a primarily urban audience the filming of the Ballynahinch Game and Harvest Festival provided a great opportunity to promote the country sports cause. The programme can be viewed at : http://www.nvtv.co.uk/shows/ballynahinch-game-fair/ The dates for Shanes Castle and Birr Castle 2017 Fairs are: Shanes Castle 24/25 June 2017 and Birr Castle 26/27 August. Our Co Down Fair dates & venue will be announced later.
  13. General, Can I reciprocate your fair response and invite you to be my guest at Shanes or Birr, Then we can have a constructive conversation based on your first hand experience of one of the fairs. And a cheque for £50 will be on its way to the IWTF tomorrow - it is certainly not a 'debt of honour' that I mind paying as I have supported the IWTF since it was formed.
  14. The General, I am always willing to apologise if I am in the wrong and as Black Buck has now claimed responsibility for something that I thought you had said, I do apologise for blaming you in the wrong. I had thought it was you and as such you were finding common cause with the antis who have done their damnedest to stop the Game Fair at Birr including trying to get support stopped from a number of sources. It appears it was Blackbuck who wished ill on the fair/ I am surprised you did not correct me and although it was NOT a LIE but a MISTAKE, I will honour the spirit of the offe
  15. Big difference between a LIE and a MISTAKE. Funny how the General did not point this out. However if it was you that said it then £50 is going to the IWTF. However its really nothing to be proud of wishing discomfort on your fellow countrysports people. This is the sort of thing antis would wish for - to do damage to the largest expression of support for countrysports in Ireland. But at least some good has come out of a vicious nasty post - the IWTF will be £50 better off.
  16. Final comment to you as YOU WERE NOT at Ballynahinch and as I said I support the concept of Moate ,many other terrier & lurcher events, clay pigeon shoots, gundog tests and trials etc. etc. I have not made any claims or posts about Ballynahinch but others have on https://www.(!64.56:886/groups/172092726163876/ and many other facebook pages. When they are available we will put up the video made for us by Image Media Films; and two independent bits of coverage by NVTV and irishtv.ie. Then people , like you, WHO WERE NOT THERE can make up their own mind more objectively than on the
  17. Unlike you I would be very happy to answer any constructive question based on facts not rumour. Talk about children - you behave like an old tittle tattler seizing on any bit of second hand gossip or rumour to attack our events - WHICH YOU ADMIT YOU DID NOT ATTEND. You also posted hoping that it would snow on the largest gathering of supposedly fellow countrysports people at Birr. Man up and admit all you are doing is passing on gossip not facts.
  18. The GREAT GAME FAIRS of IRELAND are now over for their 38th season. During this season we passed the landmark of having organised our 60th fair at our event at Birr Castle, Co Offaly we also passed the landmark of publishing our magazine continuously for 30 years firstly as Irish Hunting Shooting & Fishing and more recently as Irish Countrysports and Country Life ( www.countrysportsandcountrylife.com). We should like to thank all of you who purchase the hard copy edition of the magazine or read it online and who have pushed readership to over ,000 readers per issue making it the mo
  19. STILL NO ANSWER TO THE CHALLENGE! The challenge to 'THE GENERAL' : " Of course I rebut inaccurate allegations passed on second and third hand by people like you. And you have the cheek to say I lie about accusations which you have made and which are NOT based on personal observation or experience: - now a challenge to you I will give £50 to the IWTF if you can give just one example where I posted a lie in response to any of YOUR second and third hand allegations"
  20. I think you are the one who liked making second or third hand inaccurate allegations but doesn't like answering questions - I've asked you a question and put up a challenge - now lets hear the answers????????? The challenge to 'THE GENERAL' " Of course I rebut inaccurate allegations passed on second and third hand by people like you. And you have the cheek to say I lie about accusation which you have made - now a challenge to you I will give £50 to the IWTF if you can give just one example where I posted a lie in response to any of YOUR allegations"
  21. READ OUR FACEBOOK page for the comments you are seeking! I applaud and support the work of the IWTTF and other groups organising working shows and indeed I sponsor quite a few and give qualifiers to many others. BUT the Game Fair has a more open focus to promote country sports both inwardly to enthusiasts and outwardly to the public. It promotes clay shooting and gundog tests but both also have specialist events. It will never be simply a working dog show although working dogs enthusiasts are very well catered for with unrivalled prize structures and facilities.
  22. Of course I rebut inaccurate allegations passed on second and third hand by people like you. And you have the cheek to say I lie about accusation which you have made - now a challenge to you I will give £50 to the IWTF if you can give just one example where I posted a lie in response to any of YOUR allegations. We have organised game fairs for 38 years to promote and defend country sports in Ireland and during that period of time we have had the support of virtually ALL OF THE MAIN COUNTRYSPORTS BODIES and real countrysports enthusiasts who see the advantages of us creating a forum where like
  23. Of course you have an agenda - All of your posts appear to be based on rumour or that someone told you something and based on attacking events that PROMOTE and DEFEND COUNTRYSPORTS. While true country sports enthusiasts including all the main country sports organisations ( IWTF included) attend our fairs to there promote country sports to real enthusiasts ( that we should all stick together) and the public ( that country sports are good for the countryside) You were waiting to jump in with criticism based on hearsay and rumour.
  24. It amuses me that the main criticism of events which PROMOTE COUNTRY SPORTS and give a good public profile to TERRIERS, LURCHERS , FERRETS & WHIPPETS is by people who weren't there and who base their opinion on rumour. This includes BLACKBUCK who hoped that it would snow for Birr - now that's what I call a real supporter of country sports! All of the REAL countrysports enthusiasts including all the countrysports bodies ( including the IWTF) were there to promote the country sports cause both to enthusiasts and members of the public. You can see why the opinion of people like BLACK BUC
  25. When are you ever going to make a post based on your OWN EXPERIENCES? You seem to live your life through other people's experiences - even your alias is 'someone's'! I am afraid I can't answer every rumour, or what someone told someone else.
