  3. Sorry I missed the show which I understand went very well I've seen some good photographs of the winners and qualifiers for the Great Game Fairs of Ireland championships.
  4. Sorry won't make the show today as Mr Pringle has informed me I am falling behind with my magazine work. With his good lady in foreign climes he has been a 'ball of fire' pushing through on the magazine editing and production and composing some very creative Press Releases for the Great Game Fairs of Ireland. Best of luck with the show which is in a superb venue and has ALL of the Great Game Fairs of Ireland qualifiers.

In the interim : ANYONE GENUINELY wanting further information on the SPECIAL TWO DAY TICKET OFFER or any information on the COMPETITIONS please pm or email us your query with your name and telephone number and one of our team will get back to you. We DO NOT intend to get into debates on any aspect of the fairs on Hunting Life or any other forum.
  6. Our thanks go to Alan Crosbie for sending our Irish Countrysports and Country Life magazine a photograph of the presentation of quite a magnificent cheque for €3,600 raised at his charity show to the local St Vincent de Paul. This truly was a fantastic effort by ALL involved including helpers, sponsors , competitors etc and really good PR for the country sports community. Alan wrote the following on our Great Game Fairs of ireland facebook page : "Hi guy's I just want to thank everyone again who came and supported the carnew charity dog show on the 23 of April we just went to say

TOP PLUMMER TERRIER AWARD FOR SHANES CASTLE GAME FAIR 2017 Irish Country Sports & Country Life Editor, Paul Pringle writes with news of a superb new trophy which he will present to the TOP PLUMMER TERRIER at the All Ireland Championship at Shanes C
  10. With good weather forecast I decided to join Irene on the Game Fair/Irish Countrysports and Country Life stand at the Steam Rally at Shanes Castle. Really enjoyable day meeting many of our customers and Game Far exhibitors and delighted to meet my old friend Johnny Fee with his mobile stable, threshing machine Friesian horse, donkey and goat and a pleasant surprise to return to the stand to find non other than the master hunter Nigel Quinn. Great crowds and a different layout to the Game Fair with the fair's 'terrier and lurcher' field in use and overflowing as a pure car park - food f
  11. As I said earlier several years ago we gave a commitment that we would provide top quality competitions for terrier, lurcher and whippet owners at the Great Game Fairs of Ireland with good prize funds at least equivalent to the other sports. We have met this commitment with providing some of the very best prizes in the UK or Ireland. Somewhere it was claimed that we put up these valuable prizes in order to 'fill my pockets' at the expense of the terrier, whippet and lurcher owners. We get no such accusations from shooting, gundog , angling,or dog show competitors who are highly appreciat
  12. Alan, Congratulations to you, your team, your sponsors and the very many genuine terrier, lurcher and whippet enthusiasts who supported your show and the charity of St Vincent De Paul. Good to see quite a few 'Northerners' travelling quite a distance to support you and of course being in the awards. The magnificent cheque that you will be presenting to a worthwhile charity will resonate well locally. Charity events like this are great PR for countrysports and in defence of hunting with dogs .
  13. The STEAM RALLY at Shanes Castle, Antrim this Sunday 30th April & Monday 1st May. This is also a great day out but not to be confused with the IRISH GAME FAIR, planned for Shanes Castle on the 24th & 25th June. However the Great Game Fairs of Ireland will have a stand at the Steam Rally so visit Irene and Liz on the stand for FREE magazines and half price Admission vouchers to the Shanes Castle Game Fair on the 24/25 June. Normal admission to the Game Fair £10 with voucher EXCEPTIONAL value at £5.
  14. Guys sorry your post advertising the show has rather been dropped down the page due to a 'troll ' on our page. Your show for a good cause deserves great support
  15. Thank you to all of the friends of the Great Game Fairs of Ireland who took time out over the Easter weekend to support our competitions and the promotion of the fairs on facebook. This took the Game Fair message to over 36,000 people on our Facebook page and several thousand more in our facebook group. Several years ago we gave a commitment that we would provide top quality competitions for terrier, lurcher and whippet owners at the fairs with good prize funds at least equivalent to the other sports. I know this is appreciated by those terrier, lurcher and whippet enthusiasts/event org
  16. Great to see these shows giving something back to the local communities - good positive PR or countrysports and hunting with dogs.
  17. Well done on the Plummer classes. Brian was a character who not only developed the Plummer but also 'saved' the Lucas terrier. He would be pleased to be associated with such a good cause.
  18. All the best for your show Johnny. Might just get down to it this year as I have to be in Birr the following week.
  19. Jiggy, What about a best dressed Terrier or Lurcher owner competition with you as the judge?
  20. Perhaps Jiggy or someone else can explain to you that he meant this as a JOKE. You should really take that huge chip off your shoulder as you really are becoming a JOKE with your constant and persistent attempts to find something or anyone to criticise. The purpose of the original post was to give information to those genuine lurcher, terrier and whippet owners who want to race or show their dogs in a sporting fashion for some great prizes. We don't have any particular dress code for handlers !!!! Nor in fact did Jiggy mention clothing - this was the chip on your shoulder imagining he sa
  21. You appear not to understand that we make charity donations to a lot of organisations across a lot of country sports without any strings attached. It is odd that it is only in the working dog events that we get seriously twisted individuals like you who think that by supporting a charity event we are in some way getting at them. Anyone can see that you come on to this forum with nothing positive to say except make silly and inaccurate allegations. As I said previously " I REPEAT I had nothing to do with the organising of this show - we simply gave modest sponsorship towards the charity
  22. Totally separate events. And as I said before this event had nothing to do with me or apparently you - unless you were refused admission. I think if you look at the post it said ' reserve the right to refuse admission' most public events and public places including pubs, hotels, concerts ,visitor attractions and even shopping centres reserve this right.
  23. skip, You appear a bit slow as well as being shy about your identity and matching our charity donation. Anyone seeing your posts will realise you appear to just love to bitch and complain rather then help create a positive image for working dogs and country sports. I REPEAT I had nothing to do with the organising of this show - we simply gave modest sponsorship towards the charity donation as we do with several other charity events for working dogs, gundogs, shooting, fishing plus several country sports championships. We do not dictate to any of these organisers how they run their
  24. Skip. Terribly brave to make spurious allegations from behind an alias. Why not 'Man up' and put them up under your own name. I have absolutely nothing to do with the organisation of this show, we simply sponsored something towards the charity as we do with many other events including gundog, shooting, and angling events as well as working dog events. And if you are so worried about charity why don't you do something positive and match our donation to this or some other charity? That of course would appear much too positive! Albert
  25. Skip, I responded to a person who erroneously claimed that we put 'the commoners to the back fields of the show were the elite doesn't have to see them'. This person was totally in error as to why the Terrier,Lurcher and whippet events which require space for racing and ringside parking, are located where they are at our fairs. Other events such as the Five Nations finals which do not require this space are staged in the main arena. What bit of this do you not understand? Albert
