  7. Many will have heard that the IRISH GAME & COUNTRY FAIR which has been staged at BIRR CASTLE, Co OFFALY for the last 10 years will be moving location. The move has been slightly complicated by the news that the POPE and possibly the QUEEN will be coming to Ireland on our traditional date of the end of August. HOWEVER we are happy to announce our plans to make our 40th ANNIVERSARY FAIR at SHANES CASTLE, ANTRIM on the 23rd/24th JUNE 2018, the biggest and best GAME FAIR ever seen in IRELAND. 14. Thanks Margaret. With our 40th anniversary coming up in 2018 our team ( and I mean team - many of whom who have been with us for that whole period ) have got real enjoyment out of promoting countrysports over that period. When I say it is a team effort, many of the team work so hard in the background and largely without recognition to ensure we deliver our award winning events year after year. We have had many awards and plaudits come our way over the years where our events have been assessed as excellent by informed people and groups including the President of the ROI! That is why w

  23. Our thanks go to all the COUNTRYSPORTS ENTHUSIASTS who supported the Irish Game & Country Fair at Birr Castle and to all of our sponsors, exhibitors, event organisers and competitors for creating a very magical family atmosphere at the fair. The weather too played its part and with two days of autumnal sunshine the crowds rolled in. BIG BIG thanks to our team for the manner in which they prepared the ground and then cleared up.
