    One final comment on Leeview - who I don't think has ever been at our Irish events and certainly not recently but appears to think he knows everything from 'across the pond'. The whippet controversy has NOTHING to do with money prizes. It happens not only at our shows but at others as well whether there are money prizes or not. I was challenged on this forum to give terrier, whippet and lurcher owners a similar prize structure to the clay shooting and gundog competitors at our shows and this is what we did.     No prize money for the racing this year - so once again LV is wrong. LV always appears very willing to post about topics about which he knows very little. We didn't throw money at anything just gave the terrier, lurchers and whippets prizes equivalent to the other sports. And the events where there is good prize money i.e the Master Mc Grath and the Five Nations Lurcher, Terrier & Whippet Championships have actually gone from strength to strength,

With the NI Countrysports Fair passed - it is time for the Irish game, countrysports & country fair scene to go ALL IRELAND & INTERNATIONAL with the Shanes Castle Fair ( 27/28 June) and the Birr Castle Fair ( 29/30 August). We at the Great Game Fairs of Ireland think that while we can never really compete directly with the large fairs in the UK in terms of size or shopping experience, where we can compete is on arena attractions ( we have three arenas ) and on prize funds for our competitions.     Hope to get along to this my 'local show'. Can you make sure if you qualify for the Master Mc Grath ( Over & under 23" Elite) and the Five Nations Whppet Championship for the IRISH GAME FAIR at Shanes Castle, Antrim on the 27th & 28th June - make sure you get your qualifying forms in sharpish. Please also get your qualifying forms in for the Five Nations Terrier & Lurcher Championships at Birr Castle on the 30th August.

    Final lot of trophies arrived today - so we now have some superb trophies to keep for the top winners and all race and show class winners also get a trophy plus a 15Kg bag of dog food. Plus as you can see unrivalled prizes throughout at the premier working dog event in Ireland.

    Every year since its foundation we have donated a number of Irish Game Fair tickets to the Irish Working Terrier Federation for them to sell to raise funds for their important work. This year they have sportingly donated them back to Tom Barry's team on the ground to help defray expenses.     Rather than have a spat on the forum on the thread for the Gilford Club's Show I have decided to deal with the rather ill informed post by Huntandfish attacking me for clarifying that when PL mentioned the game fair relocating to Scarva that he meant the NI Countrysports Fair and not the Irish Game Fair which will of course take place at Shanes Castle on the 27th & 28th June.     IMPORTANT NOTICE TO WHIPPET OWNERS WISHING TO ENTER THE ALL IRELAND WHIPPET CHAMPIONSHIP RACING AT SHANES CASTLE SATURDAY 27th JUNE The racing is under the direction of Tom Barry assisted by a number of clubs. The Game Fair and working dog committees have put in place a set of rules to attempt to settle any controversy or disputes regarding the whippet racing at Shanes Castle in 2015.     Craig, The Lurcher Trophies can be won by the Master McGrath winner And Runner Up and the All Ireland Champion Lurcher ( Show) The Whippet Trophies are for the All Ireland Champion Whippet and the Winner and Runner Up in the Five Nations Whippet Championships. The Terrier Trophy is for the All Ireland Champion Terrier The Bronze racing hound trophies are for all race winners in the All Ireland Championships.

    Just took delivery of trophies today for the 28th All Ireland Championships Terrier, Whippet and Lurcher Show; Master Mc Grath Challenge; Five Nations Challenge and All Ireland Championships Racing at the Irish Game Fair, Shanes Castle, Antrim on the 27th & 28th June. Also don't forget the Master McGrath winner also gets to keep the Master McGrath Plate .     In case of any confusion it is the NI Countrysports Fair that has relocated NOT the GAME FAIR. THE GAME FAIR will be bigger and better than ever at its normal superb venue of Shanes Castle, Antrim on the 27th & 28th June.

    PL, Just in case anyone is confused by your initial post the Game Fair has not relocated this year it is still at Shanes Castle - it is the NI Countrysports Show that has relocated.
