wouldnt bother with HMR put downn .22 rimfire insted you'll get much more use from it,223 as good as it gets, although if you get chance of deer why not put .243 was looking into Dear in the next couple of seasons but for the mo i just want to get my foot in the door of FAC and use for what i have at the mo!!! so we are going for the scrapping of the .17hmr idea and going for a .22lr for bunnies RIGHT What about the fox: .22 hornet or .223 ??????????????????????????

I am filling in my FAC this week end and am unsure what to put down for approval. I am looking to shoot Rabbit and Fox but dont know if i should punt for one rifle to cover both app's or split it up and have tools for the job at hand!!!!!! money is an issue but i am in no rush to run out and get both as soon as the grant has been approved. i can wait and get one then the other!! at the mo i was going to put down for .17hmr and .223 Whats your view?

Midland Gun company 12g 3shot semi
CUPCAKE118 replied to CUPCAKE118's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Yes been using 28g so might up it!! was using 28g befor and it worked ok might try giving the ports a good polish as well. dont understand why the catch doesnt stop the 2nd cart coming out!!! -
I use a semi-auto it does the job well its not a hatson but it has a synth stock and it makes a hell of a differance when you carry it all day but you can tell the extra weight is missing when you fire it as the recoil is massive LOL
-
Have had my semi for a while now have fired 100's of carts with no problem but recently she jams when you fire off the first shot. it doesn't do it every time !!!!! what happens is the shot fires, the spent cart is ejected but when it goes throught the load cycle it allows one and a half carts out of the mag. In simple it doesn't retain the 2nd cartridge out of the Mag and thus stops the loader flicking up!!! Any ideas???? p.s it seams to cycle ok on 3 inch carts but not smaller!!! i have used 2 and 3/4 before with no problem!

Regarding the 6mm plug socket idea. I have a series 3 land rover and the drivers end of the dash is flat with lots of room behind i was thinking of running a feed from the battery to a new standard fuse box like on a series 3 they are 5 cartridge fuse type, then i can spur off from the fuse box to individual feed connectors. 1x 6mm clulite plug as on the link, 2x cigar lighter type (one on the end of the dash and one in the middle of the dash for charging the clulite battery pack) I should have said that i dont have a cigar type at the mo as the land rover is ex-mod so i will have to run a fee

Hello all i am interested to know if any of you know or have any lamps or adapters for your lamps that fit you 4x4's? I have got a clulite cb2 with a headphone type jack that fits into the battery, have seen a fitting on the clulite website that i might be able to fit to the dash of my land rover but an not sure if it is right for the job. http://www.cluson.co.uk/productsMain.aspx?CI_ID=222 was interested to see if you have any other types of lamp that are easy to use from the vehicle and has anybody used them remote control jobbies like on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REMOTE-CO

The other night me and Andy went out. He shot a rabbit just as it jumped away behind a tree, a bad shot but i sent him off to get it quick as i was driving/lamping!!!! so off he dashed. As he got to the tree rabbit jumped out of the back of the tree base, 'OVER THERE ANDY' the rabbit hopped a couple of yards down the bank!! He put my gun down and dashed off to neck it. What he failed to see in the dark was COW SHIT and as you can imagine with his momentum and the lubricating effects of COW SHIT off down the bank Andy goes on his back in the dark!!!!!! over i went to neck this rab

Well this will make you laugh Me and shotgunandy went to the local charlies store and spotted a reasonably priced 3'' Jack Pike knife, went to the checkout and andy was asked are you over 21 to that he replied NO as he is 20!! well i am sorry i cannot sell this to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now the irony we are both shotgun certificate holders and he cant buy a knife to gut rabbit Its daft you can tell if someone is high risk not to stereotype but if he looks like a famer and smells like cow shit its not likley that he is down with the westmidlands massive

Where are you in north wales?

Not sure of what you will need to carry your Quarry but get a walking stick with antler V you can use them to carry rabbit that are legged on the V or if you start getting alot slide them up the stick and put it over your shoulder the stick is also great for your shooting as you can rest your rifle on it to take a standing shot. the other option is to leg the rabbit and hang it in the hedge and collect it on the way back. put them up the stick that you have used to shoot off and Roberts your mothers brother Game bag is the other option but only good for a few!!!! Otherwise leg t
