yes i am about ready for the off was thinking of putting my gill in my pocket and getting a few bolted for my young lurcher nothing to heavy just test the water so to speak. i was just wondering what peoples thoughts were on the best times to start with how the climate is changing the breeding. we were catching month old rabbits in late jan early feb last year

i have always worked from september but whats times do you start. in times of climate change a rabbit beeding period is all but non existant with young rabbits being caught almost all through the winter. do you think that the best times to start working are now very open to interpritation. whats your view and when do you start, that is if you stop at all many thanks tony

god i wish my ticket had come through that would have put and end to my hmr or mach2 decisions. will mail you when it comes through/ if it comes through depending if the FEO when he fanaly comes around got up on the right side of bed !!!! very neat tool hope you havent lost all hope for shooting cheers Tony

This can also be extended to incorperate that there is no information regarding Mods being included in the application process its known that you have to apply for them as if they were a firearm but there is no information saying so in the application form documents. I found out after i sent off my application and i thought that i had gathered all the application data from friends and this site that i needed to complete it correctly. o well we live and learn good thing is that i was speaking to my local gun shop and it turns out that the local FEO is keen on the .17 MACH 2 round and if i h

not really, Yup I messed up on the first example, they are slightly different, but the .300WM and the .308 Win, both use a .308 calibre bullet, as do the .17 HMR and the .17 HM2 a better 6.5mm example would be the 6.5x55 swede, 6.5 grendel or 6.5 creedmoor, or for 7mm, 7x57, 7mm-08 or 7mm Rem Mag or even the 7mm rem ultra mag (you get the idea) , these rounds are very different, more different from each other than the .17 HMR and .17 HM2 are from each other, but I was just trying to demonstrate the principle, yes, albeit by exaggerating DB long and the short of the thread, I think

well i brought it up about the .17 HMR and .17 M2 because the guy down the range gave a good case for the M2 round. i will see if i can get some time down the range and use both to give me a better idea of the facts.

thanks for that was a little unsure with it being a heavy barrel enything is doable but if its not a common job it usually costs ££££ But the reply speed of this post shows its common practice cheers all have seen a nice Tikka .223 and wanted to start paying for it for when my FAC comes i dont want the local shop to sell it coz its always best to get stuff local save on all the FAC-FAC transfer malarkey cheers boys

Is it possable to screw cut a heavy barrel rifle .223 and how much would that sort of work cost??

Just called the Firearms Dpt and they have noted on the system that MOD's will be required for all Cal. and that i should mention to the FEO that they are required as a reminder. many thanks for all your help and i hope it all goes smooth i get well nervous when he comes around!!!! someone said to me once that if you get nervous around the police then your innocent only true criminals remain calm lol dont know how much truth there is in that but i am sticking with that idea :-)

I dropped a ball with my FAC didnt put down MOD's in the firearms section :-( will be making a call later to see if i can amend it!!

i didn't put down any Mods on my application does this mean i cant have them should i have put mod's in the firearm section where i put the rifle and cal information?

so when you say relevent sound moderators you mean specify what cal. you require it for or the model????? do i just tell the FAO When he comes or do i have to apply for them????

i must admit its not a choice i had even thought of but the guy down the range says the ammunition is half the price of hmr and very similar results flat trajectory and better range than a hmr only issue i can see is there aint many about.

Hi have just applied for my FAC and have put down for .17 .22 and .223 when i get my visit i take it i will have to chose between the .17 rounds available!? so what in your opinion is the best round .17 mach 2 or .17 hmr i have been advised to go for the mach 2 on cost and maintenance grounds. this is what i have been told whats your views O and just on another note will i have to specify that i will require a supressor on my rifle's or not? Have been wondering for some time how much better grouping over range is with each choke? No choke improved 1/4 1/2 3/4 full whats your thoughts or experiance

Using a heating element in a steel 45 gallon drum. Before I used the heat exchanger I still could get away with %60 veg %40 diesel in the summer, then using the exchanger I'd use 50/50 in winter & 90/10 in the summer. Alot depends on the pump, newer pumps are too efficient. http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/forum/index.php i got a s reg nissan d22 but i don't know what pump is on it. it might be a common rail diesel in your motor and they dont like veg unless you seperate the glycerine or heat to a simlar viscosity to diesel
