  1. wouldnt mind a breeding pair myself lol. whats worse is the fact that people will pay this. if i were to pay 200 quid for a bloody ferret i would expect it to skin and cook rabbits then feed them to me.
  2. have been using a collie for nearly 7 years alongside terriers and lurchers and he has been fantastic. happy to mark and catch any that slip the nets. not as fast as a lurcher but what he lacks in speed he makes up for with brains. not interested in livestock but is hunting mad
  3. a good friend of mine (whippetmike on here) has a patterdale x jack russell bitch with an undershot jaw and she is by far and away the best all round terrier i have seen. she works rabbit, rat and fox. she will never be a show winner but ym god shes a grafter, would be happy to put her in my kennel any day
  4. leave plenty of water for him mate and feed as normal. he should be ok but any change get him straight back to the vet. atb andy
  5. had my old dog castrated years ago as it supposedly calms them down but it didnt change him at all. maybe it was just my dog but genuinly made no positive difference. he did hold a lot more weight though which wasnt good. just put a lot of time into your dog, make sure it is excersized plenty, be firm and fair and most importantly do not allow any other members of the family to "undermine" your authority.
  6. never seen it mate. seen foxes and dogs, even seen a raven once pecking out a lambs tongue but never a badger
  7. hello and welcome mate. as has been said a quick glance through the forums will give you an idea of peoples likes aswell as the sheer variety that can be found in the lurcher world. personally i have worked a pure collie since i started hunting and whilst he aint the fastest he makes up for it in brains and stamina. last week though i picked up a collie/greyxwhippet so heres hoping she will do me well. atb mate and happy hunting andy
  8. I have a black lab, a golden retriever, a border collie, 2 jack russell terriers and just picked up a collie/greyhound x whippet. i think the zoo is now full lol
  9. to what purpose? a very fast guard dog maybe lol
  10. always a good feeling mate when you get your 1st kill with any dog. what type is she? good luck and hope she continues and does well for you mate. atb andy
  11. agree with all the above mate. beddy whippet is perfect
  12. In my opinion mate a collie/greyxdeerhound would be perfect. able to take all quarry, fast and will run all night. however there are a lot of other types about that are just as up to the job but its all down to personal preferance really. a good lurcher should be able to retrieve rabbits live to hand and also tackle larger quarry if required. it is an advantage with all working dogs if they can jump mate. atb andy
  13. Fantastic looking pups mate. Credit to you, Dam looks smart aswell. Will you be selling pups mate? atb Andy

  20. I fully understand and accept that people with few posts are unable to advertise dogs and livestock for sale and have no problem with this. however it seems bizarre to me that as i have less than said amount of posts i cannot reply to a post in the dogs for sale forum. why is this????? i just tried to ask a seller his location and got told i could not post. i understand that i could pm the seller and that he should have put the location on the ad but there could be several people in my situation and then someone has got to go through their inbox deleting all pms when me being able to add a rep
