    Hi all I've decided to have a bit of a clear out (due to her indoors moaning) and I have approximately 10 years worth of Sporting shooter, Sporting gun, and a couple of years worth of Airgun shooter as well. Not had a chance to count them all yet due to being stored away, but I would imagine that there must be about 100/120 issues or so, give or take.     Yes, all the time. Either with my HW100 air rifle, or when using my .22 rimfire. I even made my own by following the instructions from the following video. And if I can do it, anybody can, John

    Hi Rowan I bought a brand new HW100s in .177 about a year ago, and it is by far the most reliable, accurate and well made rifle that I have ever owned. And that includes my old mk 1 .22 Rapid 7 (I still miss it though) As already stated, what ever model you go for you will not be disappointed. My HW100 is the first pcp I have ever owned in .177 and it is literally a tac driver. Good news for me, but bad news for the local bunny population, John

    Hi all I was just wondering if any of you guys know how to upgrade the NiteSite NS50 camera to the E700 unit. Are there any modifications needed to do this, or will NiteSites battery and camera cable just plug in to the E700 camera.     I chose the HW100s in .177, and it is by far the most accurate, well built, sweet cocking pcp I have ever owned. Even better (dare I say) than my old mk1 .22 Rapid 7 John

    But before you do, make sure that you look through one. I recently went into my local to gun shop to buy this very scope, and although it looks and feels like a top notch piece of kit, I just didn't like the reticule. Just too fine for my tired old eyes, even with glasses on. I'm sure that it will suit you fine, but it just wasn't for me, John

    Hi Yes, I'm after the screwdriver type that takes different size bits. But it must have the Torque feature that prevents over tightening of the bits and therefore prevents any damage to the scope rings.     Hi all I have owned my HW100s for about 18 months and it was purchased brand new. Although I have not had any issues with the rifle, I have noticed that after doing the initial zero check before starting to shoot, the accuracy always seems to be slightly off from the last time the rifle was used. Usually the zero has moved about a 1/4'' to 1/2'' to the left or right. Once I have adjusted the scope again for the current shooting session, the zero seems to stay spot on. I only use the rifle for the occasional spot of bunny bashing and fun plinking, and given that this rifle is my first ever p

    I bought the exact same rifle about a year ago, and it is by far the best pcp I have ever owned. For me personally, I would keep the sporter stock Andy, as when I handled the thumbhole model, the gun just didn't feel as solid as It does with the sporter, John

    Hi Adrian Why not go for a Vortex Diamondback scope. I was after a new scope for my .22 rimmy, and I had about £250 to spend. After reading numerious good reviews about the Diamondbacks optics, and the excellent life time non quibble guarantee, I bought the new updated 3-12X42 HP side wheel diamondback. The scope has got a 1'' tube and comes with a decent front sun shade as standard. I paid £256 from a company called riflecraft, and the scope arrived the very next day. What swayed the decision to buy the Vortex for me was, I popped in to my local gun shop to look at a few diffe

    Thanks for the swift reply RemyBolt I don't think that fitting a sun shade will help, basically because, when I remove the moderator the reflection disappears. I hope to go out later today to do some zeroning with my new scope and .22 rimfire. I'll fix the sunshade and see if it makes any difference, John

    Hi all I have always been lead to believe that, when a scope is mounted on to a rifle, the front lens of the scope should be as close as possible to the barrel. However, I have just replaced my 30mm tube, 50mm front lens scope for the new model vortex Diamondback HP SF 3-12X42 1'' tube and fitted it to medium 1 piece mounts. Once mounted, I immediately noticed that I am now getting reflection off my SAK moderator, especially at lower magnifications. I have even tried my old parker hale mod, which is only slightly thicker than my CZ Varmints bull barrel, but still the annoying

    Thanks for the replys lads I ended up buying the new updated version of the Vortex, as above, I paid £256 posted. This was a saving of over £30 (according to the salesman anyway) I have also found a set of Hawke one piece medium mounts, that was sitting in a cupboard under the stairs.     Hi all I'm considering buying the new Vortex 3-12X42 sf scope for my CZ Varmint .22 rimfire, and I was just wondering what size mounts I would need for this scope, should I buy it. I currently have high mounts on my 50mm objective lens scope, and medium mounts on a 40mm, but I've never had a 42mm scope before, Regards, John

    Hi all I've been thinking about spending up to £200 on a new scope for my CZ .22 Rimfire, and I like the look of the Nikon Pro Staff 3-9 X 50. Basically, I'm not really into all the pro's and cons of the optic world, so all I really want to know is, Will the above mentioned scope be suitable for a typical .22 Rimfire, for bunny bashing and a spot of fun target shooting out in the field, at the usual ranges. There are so many scopes out there that I am trying to narrow down the choices a bit. I currently have a couple of Hawke scopes and a Walther 4-12 X 50 AO IR scope on my .22 Rimfire.

    Not if you buy second hand. I bought mine from a chap on this forum, and by memory, I payed just over £250 posted. The actual unit is as new, and when I checked the serial number, the NS50 was under a year old. For that kind of money, I couldn't be happier. As for the actual quality of the NS50 unit, for what I use it for, shooting rabbits at under 70 yards, it's more than adequate. Also, as you probably already know, the quality of the image on the monitor is very scope dependant. John
