  1. A1 to that , and although they are only 67mm , they also cycle perfectly in my Winchester SX3 3 - 5'' that usually prefers 70mm carts John
  2. Mashedup I have recently asked the same question regarding my new 18AH battery on another forum and was told to use the following formula , as it depends on your battery charger. 18AH divided by 500ma = 36 hours. It's not that simple, but close enough Ideally you would use a 3 or 4 stage intelligent charger that has a variable charge. Here is a photo of my 500 ma charger http://www.dfbtrade....2d-690.003.html John
  3. Benelli , Beretta , Fracchi , Lets not forget the Winchester SX3 chaps , just as reliable and cheaper too
  4. +1 for the Lanber , a good all rounder that will not break the bank and will give many years of trouble free use , John
  5. Good shooting rickardo , Plenty of rabbit stew for you then
  6. I'm glad that i have read on this forum about these bunch of crooks. They seem to have got my email address from somewhere and keep pestering me with their so called bargains. The frightening thing is that , being new to pigeon shooting i have been buying a few bits and pieces , and could so easily been tempted by some of their so called bargains , John
  7. Hi all As i dont have access to a freezer to store recently shot birds , i am looking to buy a couple of decoys to fit on to my rotary machine. I have been advised by a friend to buy a pair of pigeon hypa flap sillosocks priced at £39. Before i go ahead and purchase , i was just wondering if you guys could give me your opions of these decoys , or maybe reccommened something better, John http://www.ukshootwa...socks+Pair.html
  8. Ditto , i've owned my SX3 3.5'' Composite for nearly a year and wouldn't change it for anything else. Minimal felt recoil and it feeds everything that i've put through it faultlessly , John
  9. 32 of 6's every time for pigeons , or number 5 for crows
  10. I too get this burnt mark on my Winchester SX3. The stuff i use to remove it is Brasso. Just follow the instructions on the tin and the stain comes completely off. Once you've cleaned the stain off though i would strongly reccommend that you lightly oil the magazine tube , because the Brasso will take off any existing lubrication from the tube. For this and all other lubrications i use Napier Gun Cleaner and Lubricant . http://www.avalon-gu...info_47477.html . And Personally , where WD40 is concerned , i wouldn't let it anywhere near my guns as it is known to attract dirt & dust , but eac

  12. Try this place http://www.decoyingdirect.co.uk/ So far this year i've bought an electric pigeon flapper and a Rotary machine from them , and they even throw in a free bag as well. Also , do not get this company mixed up with decoying.co.uk because they are certainly not the same people , John PS: If you want to get in touch with this company they won't be available until next tuesday , as they have a stall at the CLA game fair this weekend. That's what they told me anyway.
  13. Hi jake As far as i'm aware the SX3 is also available in 3'' as well as 3.5 and should cycle 32 no 6's with no trouble at all. I bought my SX3 Composite 3.5'' about a year ago and it has never let me down once. As mally has already stated , the 3.5 chambered version like mine does prefer the larger 70mm carts , but saying that , when i first got the gun i had a few 67mm carts left over from my previous o/u and the SX3 also cycled these with no problems at all. As for shooting , i still can't believe how little recoil is felt compared to other semi auto's that i have used , but i suppos
  14. Hi all Over the last few months i've been accumulating all the equipment that the average pigeon shooter / decoyer would need , because i've recently joined a local shooting syndicate that shoots our feathered friends for crop protection. The last piece of equipment i needed was a rotary machine and i bought this last Wednesday. To cut a long story short , i have been out a few times this week and was really keen to try out all my new gadgets , flapper , decoys , rotary bouncers etc. Although there seemed to be quite a few birds flying around ( About 6.00am ) they just didn't see
  15. Hi 19powell90 If i was in your shoes i would save up a little and stretch your budget a bit. Although i have never owned a Hatsan Escort one of my friends did , but after a few months he had a lot of trouble with it , and it seems that numerous other people have too. A few months ago i too was after a cheap auto loader ( my first ) but i saved up a bit more cash and bought a brand new Winchester SX3 12g and boy am i glad i did. It feeds everything that i put through it and the recoil is almost nill. There are many different models of the SX3 available , but i opted for the composite
  16. Hi all As a newbie to pigeon shooting , over the last few months i've been accumulating all the necessities. The only thing i really need now is a pigeon rotary machine. I was just wondering if any of you guys could recommend a good reliable make , that wont fall to bits or break the bank. John
  17. Funny how you posted this today , as last week i ordered one direct from sue & si , and it arrived this morning. I opted for the pigeon target , and it looks like a solid piece of kit , John
  18. Unless the farm is completely isolated with nothing else around , within a radius of about 2 miles , Your best option in my opinion would be to use an Air Rifle. The .22lr bullet can travel for a distance of over a mile if shot up in the air , and if the target was missed , who knows where the bullet would end up. Another problem with the .22lr is they tend to ricochet a lot , and can be dangerous Why not put a dead rabbit in a trap , and you never know , you may even catch a few crows as well. John
