  1. Can't you tell it just been washed! You could have cleaned the dash before you took the photo.......
  2. Find a butcher that is willing to give you lamb breast, lamb rack, fat trimmings, lites ( heart, liver & Lungs ). Cut/chop up the meat and bones, Mix with a little Vitalin with gravy. The dog will eat the lot bones and all, and you will see a big improvement. I had probs with keeping weight on the dogs with all them dried feeds. Until I changed back to BARF, the dogs are now in better health and condition than they have been for years.
  3. Would just like to thank Marco for a really nice pup. Never made a peep last night and tonight. with only a couple of accidents in the house. ;-) looking forward to seeing how she developes over the coming year. Thanks again,
  4. You should have called the police, then the land owner and if possible got the number of their car. If they touched you, then I think they could have been charged with assault! But at least you will know for next time. Don't let this put you off, kid. They were in the wrong, not you.
  5. allright big stuff.rod told me he might be over this weekend if he can or during the week next week for the pup mate.so i will either be with him or i will guide him to yours over the phone mate. No probs mate,How can he miss the Deliverence just tell him to listen for the banjo's might see you soon Aye! That'll be right enough, Martin said it was a bit like that. Good job I ain't a city boy! Can't wait to pick her up.
  6. It's not that they won't let go! They physically can't let go. The feet are tools for grabbing and pinning prey. It is a reflex reaction driven by adrenalin. The foot operates on a system similar to a ratchet . It is also a survival strategy. Pain is the only option when footed.
  7. A peron could be the richest, cleverest, person in the world, well educated and polite and not have a scrap of common sense in their body. Yet the most uneducated, iliterate person of poor standing can be ousing with the stuff! I know, I've met both.
  8. Coz at a cost of £50 set-up + £15 per mole, over 12 months that one mighty big syndicate fee you will have earned, unless you are hard up for a bit of shooting, in which can it's a bargain. The last farm I trapped, I caught 156 moles, £2400 worth of mole trapping which I learned a valuable lesson. John £50 set up? £15 per mole? Not up here, you'd be lucky to get £5 per mole Most farmers up here thinks £5 is a bit pricey...

  14. I am willing to set up a supply of KKK chicks if there is enough interest here in Northumberland? The chicks come in boxes of 250 and I should be able to supply them at around £12.00 per box. It would be collection only. Please let me know if anyone is interested? Thanks

    hoods

Giant hoods (America) or Hawk boxes as they are more commonly known here do have a place alongside the traditional hood. If a bird is boxed in the back of a car, it is out of sight of the general public and wouldbe thieves. It also keeps the bird safe from other birds. Birds that are hooded and left in close proxcimity to each other on a gadge are in danger from being grabbed by the bird they are next to. Also if a bird manages to get its hood off, then the hooded bird is in very real danger of being seriously injured and at the very worst, killed. There is an american pattern for a 'Giant hoo

    hoods

Grovsey, Very nice hoods, Sorry to hear that you nolonger make them. I hood all my birds including Harris's. These days people say there is no reason to hood a Harris. I have yet to hear a good reason not to. Hoods have been around for nearly the same time as falconry has been practiced. The hood is there for a reason. It keeps the bird calm. The bird does not get excited at the sight of game. It stops the bird bateing if frieghtend by a sudden movement. It reduces stress. A hood allows the bird to be handled in a reasonabley safe manner for dressing, imping and copeing with the minimum of fu
  18. Hi! John, Female HHs Can and will take Hares. It is worth remembering that the Hare is a powerful animal and is capable of seriously injuring the bird which may even result in the death of the bird. In my opinion Hares are better left to the birds that are better equipped to deal with them, ie: Eagles
  19. Well said Jasper, . Too many people don't train their birds properly. All my birds including harris's are trained to a plain falcon lure. The responce is usually instant. Telemetry will only help you locate the bird, it won't make it fly to the glove or the lure.
  20. Correct, Millet. The re-introduction program started back in the 1968. Before that the last known White tailed Eagle in the UK, was a white/Albino 35yr old female, that was shot in 1918. It was at that point that the WTE became extinct in the British Isles.
  21. So go up too Eagle Heights and ask if it was one of their birds? Simples! ;-)
  22. Cheer's for the info.. ..the picture i took was around 40 mile north of Lambley as the crow flies..that is if the Lambley you mean is near to haltwhistle.. You have PM
  23. Nice shot of a female red,Pat and possibly pregnant. Judging by the thickness of her coat, was the pic taken early in the year? If this pick had been taken in summer then the coat would have been sleak and shiny and she would have had 'Tufts'. Millet - Reds can be without tufts when they have their winter coat. I don't think there are any greys on Brownsea island. Brownsea and the Isle of White are the only two places in England, south of Anglsey where there are Reds. The pic of the Red you took in northumberland. It wasn't around the Lambley area was by any chance?
